discussion Do you change the MC's name and to what?

Usually just use my own name, mainly because I prefer to be referred to by my own name. Feel it slightly more immersive that way even though im not really big on self insert or care for it all too much, just found that I don't really immerse as much in NSFW games compared to other games so the name thing helps slightly. Probably also since most games have the male MC be a faceless placeholder or some generic lame model that doesn't really lend itself to caring about the character at all so the name thing gives at least something to ground myself in.

If it's a male, they usually end up being named Fuco. Sometimes female MCs will be Fucette, but more often than not it's some random D&D character I rolled up back in high school. But pretty much every guy is Fuco...

Generally use Emma for FMCs since I may or may not have an Emma Watson thing

But dont you hate when a NPC has the same name?

This does get confusing for me, but I got a bunch of different names I use so if an NPC has a name I usually use it's not a problem.

Yeah I always change the name. I won't play a game where you can't! I dont mind if I cant change the name of any love interets, unless its the name of someone i know in real life

I always rename to Anon, last name Ymous when possible. I want a consistent name to avoid having to remember what the MC's name is in dialog, but also want a name that is unlikely to already be used for another character.

It has become a habit of mine to name all my MCs "Bro".

For a male MC I always just use my own name but otherwise I'll pick the default option. If there is no default available I take a little bit to come up with a pretty name for the character
