Do ratings affect whether you download a game?

As most people in the thread no not really. Tags > Pics > Reviews > Raitings.

Sometimes, but there's also where's a games ratings is low but its actually peak

alighwEWIFE[wigj ignore me, just trying to get coin here :coffee: wqirVYHNQPMrqr

not really i usually download without even looking at the rating but if the comments are saying its trash then i avoid it

no, since I never perceive ratings before downloading

Just the overall idea, I like see bad reviews to make my mind, but just about gameplay, controls, mechanics, themes I always ignore

i never look at reviews alot of times the reviews are people suffering from skill issues

As mentioned above: tags, then images, and finally reviews. Reviews can sometimes be useful for identifying issues.

If I spot something shiny and new in the game updates list, I will curb my enthusiasm if I see 2 stars or less. If the reviews also sum it up as awful, I'm unlikely to DL.
The only exception would be if the game catered to a niche fetish and the ratings were by the majority who didn't dig that kink.

I tend to avoid 2.5 stars or below games unless i'm really interested in the preview images shown and the game concept/tags are really up my alley. Have found low rated gems here and there tho, so there's that.

I don't care as much for the overall score but more for what the reviews are actually criticising.

yeah but i play the games which have bad ratings but looks good for me,so just helps me deciding when i dont know to play it or not

Tags and pics are more important. A lot of people don't like grindy games and will give a game 3 stars because of that, for example, which makes it a biased review. I don't mind grindy games as long as the art and progression is good

No. Especially in case with porn games on pirate sites, were people often lash out at the game/dev for silliest reasons while at the same time not really being invested in to it. Same true for overhyped high rated games, which are often get their score simply because they are super vanilla power fantasies with pretty pictures.

Not necessarily.
There are games with thousands of reviews that don't interest me at all.
Then there are underrated gems that just blow me away.

I do, but I read the low ratings to see if their grievances are justified or if the "problems" are non-issues.

I don't pay attention to ratings, ever. I make my own mind up if I like a game or not.

Not really, i think that the tags and preview images are more important.
