Do ratings affect whether you download a game?

I look at tags and screenshot + what the comments are saying. The actual rating usually doesn't matter.

Nope, not really. I look at the pictures, if they look interesting enough. I don't like the japanese anime style, and it's often censored so why even bother...

Of course if it's a few years old, and it has low rating, I probably still try it...

unless the screenshots look very promising despite the low score, then no

ratings are definitely a factor but if people swear by the game despite bad ratings I still give it a shot

i always make my own mind up so if i like the look of it i'll give it ago :)

Tag/kinks are my main driving factor, then screenshot/Images. Everything else is an afterthought and is more or less unnecessary.

To be honest, I look more into the tags and visuals of the game, and if it attracts me I look into the reviews to get and idea of the quality of the game to decide if I will play it or not.

I won't completely discount a game strictly on ratings but I may take an extra minute or two to skim the reviews and game thread if something is really low, like in the 1.5 star area.

Things with low ratings I'll overlook. If it has rare tags I like I will read the reviews or replies to see if it's worth downloading.

I don't normally pay attention to ratings, if a game looks good that's usually enough for me. I will sometimes have a quick browse through comments about the game to see if people say anything about a lack of content or the game being particularly buggy though.

I never look at rating. Comments are better source of information

Honestly, I don't pay attention to the ratings. I only trust MY OWN opinion.

Anything below 3 tends to be my limit but god damn I've seen some 5s that have had me question if people are fucking stupid.
Agreed, unless the preview looks really good, I'll ignore a low rated game. But also, what the fuck is with some of the 4.5-5 games? lol

Mixed. First I look for the tags, then screenshots and at last ratings. I use ratings mostly for information about bugs and issues with the game. Good screenshots and tags are wothless when the game itself is a "bugfest"

I try to read the reviews at least to see what the low ratings are about. Sometimes it's just about grind or janky gameplay, which I can tolerate to an extent anyway.

Ratings don't matter to me. Just play the game and you'll know if it's good or bad.

I always look at the ratings as it is an indicator of how good the game can be, if it has 1 or 2 stars I don't usually play it but if it has 3 or more I do.

I go by the art, tags, and description. If it looks good to me I go with my gut. There's a lot of popular stuff that I don't like. Like DAZ VNs.

If the ratings are low I am more likely to read posts about the game to see wtf is going on with it
