Do ratings affect whether you download a game?

I like to sort through the ratings. See what is popular to the people

It depends on how bad the rating is, if it like a 1 then there probably something really wrong with it.

When looking at games, do you pay attention to the ratings?
Absolutely. Yes. Though, the ratings are only a first impression for me (like a warning or a heads up) and not the determining factor.
If so, do 'low' ratings make you less likely to download a game?
No. Its the reviews, game status(progress), presentation, and personal interests influencing the likelihood of downloading.
What are your thresholds for being wary of, or even not downloading a game, based on its rating?
Always wary, but other factors play more of a major role in determining to download a game than the ratings.

I will look at the ratings. If it's four stars or higher and the tags seem good, I'll go ahead and download it. Any lower, I'll scrutinize the comments. If the low stars are for game functionality, I run away. But some people get angry at games for the weirdest reasons (they don't like a woman's hair style) so I will give those games the benefit of the doubt in despite of a low rating.

In order of importance: Renders → Story → Completeness → Tags → Reviews.

Lack of ratings or 3⭐ and lower, I'll bookmark the game for later if it's appealing, until it has improved, or I lose interest.

Ratings? Absolutely not. WHY the ratings, yes. 1 star because "incest is gross" on an incest game... (or 1 star for "NTR sucks!" on an NTR game, olive branch for you lovers of NTR games even though I don't like it) is a bullshit rating. Also, I don't care about animations so "3 star max. No animations" is another rating that doesn't affect me.

They do, but only if they are really low. Because that is mostly an indicator for everything is wrong with it.

Nah, not really. I'll take a look at the tags, description, and images. If it looks good, I usually give it a shot.

Dont really check them myself, i usually just check the preview images and the description tags, if there's something interesting there, its an insta download

i assume every game with a low rating and more than a few votes is shit, so yes, i do pay attention to them
also on that other site there is a weighted rating tab and most of the games on top of that tab i really enjoyed

No, not really. I usually look into description and see previews if available and if appeal to me I try the game.

A low (<3*) rating will make me skip over a game unless my backlog is starting to dry up

Regarding the screenshots in the announcement. I never focused on them. Let's take Happy Summer as an example. The pictures are cute, but the game is a total slag.

Rating is less of an issue than the comments. If there's a game I'm on the fence about and the first few comments are all negative I'll generally give it a pass.

Not really. ITs all about the description and the storyline for me

Not really, first look at tags, then maybe read a few reviews

It isn't a factor for me, each game can be good or bad to a player depending on their taste, but good renders, a well written story or a long continuous story make the difference to me... I don't like short games, first releases and then yo have to wait six months or more for an update.... =(

Anything below 3 tends to be my limit but god damn I've seen some 5s that have had me question if people are fucking stupid.
Or close to it on the other site. Like the no sex after years games.
