When looking at games, do you pay attention to the ratings?

If so, do 'low' ratings make you less likely to download a game?

What are your thresholds for being wary of, or even not downloading a game, based on its rating?

Personally, when there's enough ratings, I generally am wary of anything below a 4/5, and unless in an exceptional situation probably wouldn't download a game under 3.5/5.

Anything below 3 tends to be my limit but god damn I've seen some 5s that have had me question if people are fucking stupid.

Ratings typically mean nothing when I decide on a new game to try. There are a lot of games that get shit ratings because a targeted kink is there or not there. Too often I see ratings based off the first release of a game and not every good game starts well. I would rather find players that enjoy a game I like and listen to their suggestions. I find so many games I enjoy like this over the rating systems.

Tags and Comments are deciding factor. Other peoples opinions (ratings) are generally wrong so not useful

No.
Because ratings aren't worth anything.
Most people rate games based if they have tags they dislike or like and not for it's actually content.
"Eww, [tag]?!" -> 1 ⭐ even if it's the holy grail for people who like that tag.
"Cute girl!" -> 5 ⭐ even if the game is a pile of shit.

Not really, it just makes me drop it off earlier if it's bad early on. If it has a good score I might give it a little more leeway thinking it might get better later on.

Certainly a very low rating keeps me away from games, my minimum rating is 3.5 stars.
Of course rating isn't everything, often games with close to 5 stars are not my cup of tea either, that is mostly cause of the tags tho.

If a game looks really good, but has abysmal ratings, I tend to first look around what people are complaining about. Usually there is a truly fatal flaw. Other than that, ratings are more like a curiosity I acknowledge exists, but largely ignore.

my choice depends on the renders, the overall rating and the number of people who rated it

It depends on how coherent the criticism is, but I mostly try to ignore it. Plenty of games that I expected to be good based on the ratings have disappointed me. One person's meat is another's poison. It's a bit like movies, sometimes they can be shit but YOU like it so who cares what anyone else thinks. Or people can just be wrong, or judging it by the one issue they don't like, their own personal biases, etc.

Right, I forgot that the renders, or the graphics in general need to be good too.

How complete the game is. If it is android ported. Pictures and premise matter more to me.

I read reviews for games that look interesting but score in the middle. I'll avoid it if the bad reviews are about the game being broken and impossible to play.
If it's just guys complaining that the MC is too short and that there's another character in the game that has sex 3 updates in. I'll give it a play.

I usually go to the last few pages to see if the game is updated frequently and I also check the reviews.

By and large, the only worthwhile ratings are those written by someone with the exact same preferences as the review reader.

I've seen few reviews that objectively critique the quality of the work. The vast majority of reviews I've read would be more appropriately posted to the comments section.

I look at tags, read the overview (usually very telling of the quality of writing), and look at the sample renders (if I get that far).

For sure. It's not as important as tags or image previews, but I have a list of over 100 games I'm trying to keep track of. Below a 4 I'll read the reviews, and generally steer clear of anything below a 3.

There's reviews?
