[Site News] [Community Feedback] What Should LewdCorner Fix First? (Open for 5 to 7 Days)

Is this one thing or 2? Im kinda confused. Are you saying Jack should make games less grindy, or are you comparing the grind in games to the grind in getting mem+? And if the latter, which is your main issue with the grind? What part are you stuck on? Is it because you cant do it, or you dont know how? If the former... The site/staff have nothing to do with the games, they are just providing you with content someone else makes.
Available time. Not everyone lives in a basement and dependent on someone else’s income. Nothing is confusing about that.

Sidebar options only appear on pages with a sidebar, eg main page, not this thread.
Bold, try selecting an actual font instead of leaving it blank.
Unfortunately theme settings flushed with private browsing. @Jack Of Blades , this is a very minor issue, it would be nice if theme settings were kept in our user profiles.

Missing preview images. (note thumbnails still work so can see what they were).

Sometimes a dev might use an old or custom pic, or maybe an in-game pic at a higher res, but the most representation previews are actually what's in the game. If you care about a particular game, you can actively help. Download the game extract the missing pics, or the nearest you can find, post them in the thread and report your own post so all a mod has to do is copy them into the OP.

if 2,000 hours can be spent on the LU page that constantly has complaints no matter what, why not put the casino games back up so we can entertain ourselves while staying active on the site instead of leaving & only coming for image threads or game updates

If it helps: I just reported two games and the reports were resolved within ten minutes, then I did another three games.I’m starting to think the problem is simply that these are old uploads
I took care of those reports—I think there were six of them—and it didn't take me more than 10 minutes.

As I said, you don't need to actively search for games with broken images to report them; you just need to report them when you see them. Usually, when a game that needs to be updated is reported, if it has broken images, they're fixed at the same time.

The games that will likely remain with broken images for a while are the ones that aren’t reported and the ones that nobody looks for. And for the third time, you don’t need to actively search for them to report them—just do so when you see them.

I read what I wrote, and it sounds much more like an accusation than a general statement; I apologize.

For me, the site runs like absolute ass. It's laggy, it takes forever to scroll, pages load slowly. This is the only site that is like this, and it makes me think of internet from the early 2000s
That's strange; I haven't had any problems. It could be an issue with your VPN or your connection to the LC server. I know there are some users—and even staff members—who have had VPN-related issues.

Issue: Tags are my number one concern, and not only on this site. There are active duplicates of some tags (netorare, netorare-2, ntr; femdom, female-domination) and it seems as if Latest Updates has a limit of 10 tags in exclusion.
Reason: That makes it very difficult to personalize the experience of LU which is frustrating.
Priority: High
Device: Seems irrelevant, but I only use desktop
Browser: Seems irrelevant, but I'm using firefox

Also I am tired of actively reporting missing 'japanese game' tag on countless games with literal japanese writing in the thumbnail (title, tagline, whatever). One of my reports was recently rejected because the game is translated to English. Are there rules about what each tag is supposed to be about? Because to me 'japanese game' is a game made in Japan for japanese audience, regardless of the language of the game.
We're aware that we need to review the tags on the site, but I can't say much about it because that's more the uploaders' area.

Because over at f95, a lot of people wanted to know which mod banned AceCyclone, and, above all, why, and here I can read up on that; that’s really cool. Does AC have that too?
Even before I joined the staff, something I always appreciated was transparency.

Try disabeling user styles and animated glows in the preferences.

Dunno if it helps with the loading times, but the lagging might get better.

Don't need to be VPN or internet connection issues. Those issues can happen for some people if a forum uses too many visual gimicks. For exemple, I have to disable those options I mentioned above, because LC would lag like crazy. Same thing happend with roriwalrus, but there one couldn't disable those things.
Funny enough, even other sites with tons of visual stuff going on wouldn't cause such issues, so I guess something is off within the xenforo core code.

I have disabled that too, and the site runs smoothly for me. In fact, compared to ULFA, where I can't even exit a conversation without getting an error

One thing I’ve noticed is that the number of users has dropped; we used to have anywhere from 27,000 up to 81,000 users as a standard, but now it’s only 3,000–5,000 on average—what happened?

Tags have been mentioned in various ways but I haven't seen anything about indicating when the tags content is optional/skippable. One way (probably easiest) would be to just have specific "non-skippable ___" tags for the more egregious ones and assume all others are optional. Something a little more robust but would require more effort would be to give the tags a variable indicating they are optional or not, displayed with a different color or something.

The point being that people would have better control searching for games. The more adventurous devs who manage to include optional paths for more controversial tags are missing out on players who blanket-exclude those tags.

Few thoughts for you
-It was mentioned before but there are a lot of thumbnails when clicked have no preview photo I seen that someone else mentioned this but I was going to suggest a "report to uploader" button for stuff like broken previews, dead links, and such.
-When I became mem+ I felt like I was dropped in a wolf den not sure where I can go or what I could do, while I don't mind trying to find out I suggest adding a quick walk-through guide telling new mem+ about what is now different or how to access stuff like games+ (which I regretfully say took me longer then it should have).
-Labels for different ranked games its hard to make recommendations to non-mem+
-Add some sort of monthly or yearly competition (some other sites do a banner competition but I suggest a random shout-outs for most updates to game/mod/comic or having most likes on a comment for that month (after all who doesn't like a little praise)) or random monthly poll/questionnaire (something fun, simple and non-serious like favorite in-game bed sheet color or longest time playing a vn while standing)

These are my thoughts and suggestions I am content how the site is now and greatly appreciate that these feedback questions are asked.

Here are few of my suggestions.

1) A little tip for Mods for finding games with missing images. If you go to LU, filter to Plus and sort by Likes you will find ton of games with Preview unavailable. I´m not going to report them because only on first page there are 24 out of 60 games with missing images and that would probably overwhelm you. It would be good to fix first few pages of those as those are the most likely to be browsed by someone looking for something new to play.

2) Something that is elsewhere done better. If you mouse over title in Watched it displays thumbnail. Handy if you don’t remember what is that game by its name, image can help. But maybe there is good reason why it is not done here performance, code etc.

3) Bring Watched to LU for example as another Browse Mode or link it with Bookmarked. It would be great way to quickly find out if one of games you play has been updated.

How about limit the amount of Comments new Users can post until a Rank is purchased to finally stop the spams as no action is obviously taken since it's against the Forum Rule.

A full page to see recent threads/posts outside of just the 8 most recent might be good to better see ongoing conversations someone might want to participate in. Or a clearer way to find said page if it already exists and I haven't found it somehow.

The UI sometimes glitches on Mobile and it's hard to find just the latest games for a first time user

Another UI complaint....

The popups and overlays in the corners are annoying. Donation requests and required threads should be on the front page, not every page.

I feel like I'm opening Pandora's box by saying this, but... there's no limit on the number of daily reports, nor is it grounds for punishment or penalties (unless the reports are malicious or false). If something is wrong, it gets reported and we take care of it—that's the whole point of reporting.

Not long ago, a user spent 3 or 4 days reporting a ton of outdated AI games on the forum (less than 5% of those reports were for normal games), and every day we had over 70 pending reports—it was a total nightmare—but in the end we managed to sort it all out. Users may have noticed this because of the huge influx of AI games appearing in LU.

Every day we try to keep the number of reports low (under 10). The ones that usually end up staying behind are the ones that are complicated to resolve. These can be games, mods, animations, or missing assets that are difficult to replace, or games that are very large and take a long time to mirror, but eventually we end up resolving everything.

Of course, this shouldn't be taken as “Go and find all the games with broken images and report them,” but rather as “If you find a game with broken images, report it.”
I just realized I didnt see your list line, and I just went and did exactly that. Sorry. Ill stop now. I got through 15 pages of 60 game each. So I checked 900 games, and reported the ones with a the error when trying to load images. I didnt click on EVERY preview image, usually just one at random, but later I started clicking just the first because I found a few where later preview images worked, but earlier ones didn't so felt this would be more accurate. However, since I was going by latest, I only got I think as far as games updated "1 month ago". From what ive seen/heard, the older games are much more likely to have missing images.

Apologies if the flood of reports was painful, but good job at fixing them (I am still getting notifications of the reports being fixed).

I was about to send you a private message asking you to slow down a bit.

It’s not a bad thing, but the problem is that the report list doesn’t have a filter, so if it gets flooded with reports about broken images, it’ll be hard to find the reports about updates or conflicts in the forum, which slows down the response.

Anyway, don’t worry—like I said, it’s not a bad thing, but it’s better if users do it passively—reporting issues when they see them—rather than actively searching through the games.

I agree with you, but I dont think users are going to do it passively. To be honest... the way this SHOULD be done is via a server admin in bash. Dig through the logs with grep to find 404s, and narrow it down so you can see only files with image extensions, then filter it through awk or cut to only show filenames and which post# they are from and sort that into a list of which posts have missing images. You could then parse that via the db to find which of those posts are an OP vs a reply and that final list, after ~10 minutes of bash tinkering (or 3 minutes if you use AI to help you) would be a list of all OPs with images that do not load.
