Most of the censorship is dependent on the source of the game itself and how much communities have involved on uncensoring them. I usually just assume all of the DLsite ones are censored unless mentioned otherwise or had contributions elsewhere. However, if they're unity games they might be uncensorable easier than usual.

I agree it's also a good idea to add a description if they already are or not.

I had this censorship conversation with another dev and his game Miruri is also on the dlsite and yes Japan has even stricter censorship laws than f95 and requires that all genitals have to be pixelated, if the developers don't do this the game will be banned on dlsite... that's why the dev only published the SFW version on his dlsite...

In general, all the support sites like Patreon, Subscribestar, Fansly and all other sites where you can earn money for your game have very strict censorship and have zero tolerance for loli and shota content...

That's the reason why many developers give up or just release an "aged up" version

I know I'm the mfcker who said we should be flexible with the genre, but can this game really be considered "cohabitation game"? I think it lacks many of the genre's mechanics and characteristics... Good game tho, but I don't know, I don't feel like it's "like the others," so to speak.

Heh sometimes the difference can be tricky, I think the best way to go would be to put all said games in another below list "cohab themed games but not cohab games" - or "others" to keep it simple

A little bit of a different style to some of the other cohabs on here. IIRC you play as a father that has his daughter move in with him after a divorce. Every turn she enters a random room where you can then interact with her. Buying certain items from the shop and/or having high enough bond with her unlocks interactions. Only part that's really annoying about this game is you play a literal slot machine minigame to farm money.

One option would be going along with it and providing a patch somewhere else. But there is little incentive to do so. Chances are, you can't really sell the patch anywhere and the sites might even prohibit evasions like that somewhere in their fine-print... Bad times.

OtakuPLAN does that on Steam, and Steam doesn't give a fuck about it as long as the prohibited game content is not in their store.

That means, you can publish your game on Steam with a decensor patch hosted somewhere else. Which is somewhat comical because you have more freedom on Steam than in a specialized store like DLSite.
