  • Donation Rewards & Vault Credit System Update
A new important update has been posted covering the Donation Rewards bug, the reset of incorrect Donation and Platinum credits, the upcoming reclaim system for previous tracked donations, and the new Vault freeze/maintenance behavior. The goal is to remove bug-generated credits, protect real donation history, and rebuild the system in a cleaner and safer way going forward. - Jack Of Blades

Burnout Sucks. What Do You Do About It?

Medically speaking, there is no such thing as "burnout". It is depression and I recommend professional help.

Forgot this thread existed
Last I posted here was last January, this March/April I was home for 3 weeks because of burnout and still struggling to keep my energy up. I'm at least back up to ~90% at work, I feel, so I'm taking it easy and plan a long weekend once a month at least :giggle:, doing wonders. The summer months should be slightly less work, so I hope I can gain some more improvement then. 🤞
Glad to hear you're managing :D

Took me a looong time to dig myself out of burnout pit. I just tried to focus on noticing progression, not speed of progression if that makes sense.

Personally, I disconnect from the internet; it's too hectic and toxic, often damaging anyone's mental health.

My solution is to escape into relaxing games like Stardew Valley; it's very therapeutic.

stay away from screens and internet go outside for a walk or jog, swim if your into that, go out and tear yourself to something nice like a meal or like an activity you like

I feel burnt out around once a year, the remedy that works out for me is to travel and experience a different culture. I always felt like my perspective changes so much when i return and it's the boost i need to enjoy life. meeting new people in new environments for me is the best and may be for you too. I live in the UK so flying to anywhere in Europe is like £20 so it's a bit easier for me than others i will admit

I experienced a similar condition after graduation. The goal of graduating with honors was my super goal, and it came true. I felt completely empty, I lost the meaning of existence. It was creepy. What helped me? The real world, real friends, real love. Yes, do not be afraid of real, not virtual girls, they are quite worthy of attention. When you have real friends (real friends, not just acquaintances) and real love, believe me, you will forget about psychological burnout.

So, I’ve been feeling done lately. Like, completely fried—no energy, no motivation, just staring at the wall and questioning my life choices every time I log in to a site and just stare blankly on why I am here.
I figured I’d throw this out here because I know I’m not the only one who deals with it. How do you handle burnout?

I’ve tried a few things Like just going outside, binging anime (just found out that I love rom com oddly enough), hell even working out.
But honestly, Half the time, nothing works, and I just quit halfway.
So, what about you? Do you have a go-to way to reset, or are you in the same “burnout limbo” boat as me? Let’s hear it—whether it’s legit advice, weird hacks, or just relatable rants.
Let’s figure this out together because honestly, I’m tired of feeling tired.
You need to find something that's a bit challenging not too challenging and gives you a sense of purpose.

Doing bit by bit, like 25 minute sessions of whatever, and constant breaks was what used to help me back when I was fighting burnout on and off. Right now it's all just "off" because of life needing me to focus on other things. I'd love to find a way to start back up, but I think I would have to be in a group project where someone's constantly kicking me in the ass to get my portion done.

Sounds like depression. I have bipolar depression and probably seasonal depression. Apparently socializing with friends in person and walking outside are helpful.

Well I just unplug from the internet take a long nature walk, or read a good book on my favorite recliner chair.

The best thing when hitting burnout for me is trying to take some time off to relax even if its just a long weekend and spending time with people I enjoy being around.

Well i've been living like that since roughly 2012 when I finished my attempt at Uni (UK/England).
To this day I have no direction or realistic goal to pursue and its infuriating. it really sucks, to just ...linger... if i knew of a sure fire way to get out of the rut and have a eureka moment as to what to pursue i'd certainly have done it and would tell you ..but alas .. i continue to linger.

All i can say is ..a lot of people 'Linger' in a state of effective 'burnout' and consider it normal ..personally i dont find it normal ..i spent the first two thirds off my life with goals ..targets ..ambitions ...to not have those seems 'wrong'.

If you still have something to aim for, be it what you were doing or something different ..just get to it, start it ..continue it ..finish it ..what ever. Burnout can quickly turn to lingering long term ...trust me ..dont let it get that far.
