I would like to see decent gameplay, nothing complex but a simple fast paced gameplay loop between scenes

honestly as long as you have any talent, creative vision, or desire to do any thing other then a basic VN, or trainer game with occasional lewd images. what ever you make will be better than 90% of games, especially if you intend to post for the + section.
games like karyns prison, myst, Third Crisis, Battle of the Bulges, sexbot, Corrupted Kingdoms, Treasure of Nadia, Four Elements Trainer, Camp Mourning Wood, Rogue-like: Evolution, Winter Memories, Take Over, and LonaRPG are good inspiration
basically can you integrate the lewdness in to the game system rather then it just being a game that has lewd events in it.
I see what you are saying. Just really trying to figure out what to do :/

I was kinda thinking of a game where you play as a peeping tom in a small neighborhood. I dont know how well that would go over though 🤔

Dude! I agree. Fuck those games were you watch and read for hours.... Hate it!
I feel like choices can also have negative impact, most of the time they are just there to skip scenes or make the game convoluted

I personally think one of the worst things you can do is to do what others want to see. Instead of focusing on what YOU want to see in a game and what YOU find fun/attractive. There's always going to be someone who likes or dislikes the game.
So might as well do something you want to do. Because if you do, maybe you'll get to actually finish a game.

What I'd however recommend is to skip the most boring of tropes that have been milked to death.

For general concepts; something that has different character personalities not just 'need sex now', a lot of the games I like are ones that you can generally go down 2 paths - 'good or bad' or something like that. Having no choices means I often just skip through the game, but have "choices" that are akin to 'murder this person in front of a police officer, or wave at them and wish them a good day' where they really aren't a choice since one just ends the game are even worse.

Yeah, something more than two paths are better for sure. So many games already have this tho.

"Peeping Dorm Manager", is a good game like that for inspiration. i really liked it but was disappointed by its limited scope.

So I am a pro game dev that has worked on some super big titles and was looking for a fun dirty project to work on in my personal time.

I want to get a feel for what people love/hate the most about these type of games (besides the obvious) and see what I can come up with story/gameplay wise.

What's everyone opinion about the games? (Not the devs - I know some arent the best)
Unfun grind and pages of worthless dialogue. Some of these devs think they're Shakespeare...

Please please please please please don't ever make me click a "choice" button when there is only one "choice". It drives me up the wall when I have to click a particular place on the screen just to move to the next dialog or location. I played a game once where the dev did this many times in a VERY short amount of time. Like, almost every other click. I quit the game in frustration and annoyance.

The possible exception to this would be a seldom used humerous-ish button.

That shit pisses me off too. You aren't alone.

Also thank you all for your advice. I read through all of it and really appreciate your thoughts and advice. Time to see if I can play around and make something here in the coming months. :)

on thing i also like is when their is a variety of ages both on the older and younger side. games are boring when it is just 5 19 year old girls. a variety of social positions is good to.

i am kind of a lewd game encyclopedia if you have questions. playing them is kind of a hobby

Well, one only has to go as far as the Games section to see what ranks highest. Those are probably best examples of what does well. One one person likes another will hate, but there are some commonalities. Well written, with some buildup (foreplay) and a good payoff is the best place to start. Since most stories are just rederivation's of other stories, all you have to do is look at classics in porn and erotica to find some good ideas.

What I find odd, is if you're a dev, the process should be pretty obvious to you. Every game, regardless of genera, has the same bones.

i don't think this is true at all, their are wildly different considerations from game to game and genre to genre. sure if all you are considering is the sex scenes then sure their are some similarity's , but the point of lewd games are the, game part,

Well, if you ask the same group of people on the same site that rank Games/Games+ you're probably going to get similar answers, statistically speaking. As far as story types, depending on who you ask, there are basically 3, 5, 7, 9 or 36. All are valid. You can try to re-invent the wheel or you can go with what works. Maybe it's my bias speaking, but I tend to go with people like King, Sanderson and Martin to find the hooks and tropes that tend to work. Not always, mind you, but they are pretty consistent. Humans' are pretty reliable when it comes to what attracts them - even if they will argue to the death that they are unique.

In my experience, people don't know what they want, until they do. So asking them is rather pointless. Find the hook. Follow the rules, but know when to break them. And do your best to manifest it. Then let the audience decide.

As a dev, the one added factor is time. What is popular today may not be what is popular in six months or a year when your project is released. Chasing fads is a sure way to fail.

I'll tell you what I'm looking for. You definitely need to get good at blackmail. In games, you have to earn money or something disposable and use it to buy equipment like computer parts, phones, bags, slippers, etc. For example, you can blackmail your teacher into wearing more revealing clothes. You can blackmail an ordinary girl friend at school by catching her in a vulnerability and using it against her to blackmail her into doing your perverted work, or you can pimp her out for other people's work and make money. You can blackmail your friends at work and don't hesitate to step on them to get ahead. For Games+ you can focus on the horror element or you can go down the drug route, you can get them addicted and market them to your customers. Or if you run a business, for example a cafe, then you can choose the people who work there from people who really need money and force them to serve them in very kinky outfits. I have so many ideas in my head for this and things like that.
