I like a good buildup, not a slow chore. Some games a slow build up makes sense like dating my daughter, but others it's like WTF bro i got my dick in my hand right now, I'm not planning on jacking it for 4 hours straight, gimme something
Pacing is a bitch. I completely agree there, but I would argue that depends on the objective of the game. Some, and let's be honest most of them, just aspire to show you something for a quick fap, other try to tell a story. Recently I got a game here, about a soldier (forgot the name and to lazy to search) back from combat that goes to fuck every single hole in sight without repercusions, including his daughters with the blessings of their mothers!!! But the guy is a war hero of sorts, straigh shooter, ie, someone moraly correct. Makes no sense. Good fap though.
For me is the lack of focus:
If a game is story-focused, for the love of God, make the characters stay in character and ensure that decisions actually matter.
If a game is gameplay-focused, the core loop needs to be fun and the minigames should have scaling difficulty. Most importantly, the rewards have to make the hassle worth it.
If the focus is showing art and a quick fap, just make some excuses to glue everything together and go directly to the point.
Stop trying to do everything at the same time, it rarely works
Adding too many characters instead of developing the existing ones.
If I wanted to see different characters, I would play a different game. I've grown emotionally attached to these ones, I want to see more of what you've got for them.
As others have said, too many characters. This is particularly true when the new characters add nothing to the story other than being a new hole for the MC to stick his dick in. The absolute worst is getting a new game for the wincest and the MC spends most of the story banging everyone else (looking at you Grandma's House...).
