Mine is when the dev starts to add too many models without adding content to the previous roster

Games that are slow as hell in the start and just rush the ending

when instead of new content they focus on reworking the old one. like slightly changing the scenes etc. always wondered whether it's being lazy or just milking with minimum effort so game won't be tagged as abandoned.

Reworks that """"CoRreCt"""" characters' appearances to emphasize how legally aged they are, even despite being as legal as it gets from the get-go ofc. I think that's even worse than abandonment in my book

Reworking or remastering parts of the game before releasing the full version.

Worst kind of reworks imo:

>devs reworks old scene
>only changed the lighting
>took the dev 2 months

Why are they like this?

Probably making a game to be bloated with grind, i would hate that adult games can become like the current AAA games of today X).

leaving story lines unfinished update after update while introducing different story lines & characters

Honestly, just how big some games are relative to the amount of content
How the fuck does the 20min worth of scenes take 5gigs of space????

If a developer can't give up .png graphics, there is a risk of getting a 10gb VN with 30 minutes worth of content.
The problem is the developers.

Probably the biggest reason I close games is because of how much work it takes to advance the story.

I get that these are supposed to be games and have some user action required, but the worst are games with many locations and no indicator of where to go next to advance the story, and also the use of weird UI decisions such as no arrow option for selections, or even worse the arrows don't move the selections off a single option, which makes it seem like a workable UI until nothing can be selected.

This is mostly why I stick with visual novels more than games, but even some VNs have very bad UI designs and kill the story for me.

Another thing that bothers me is when a dev forces the player into a time sink just to unlock a scene or progress the story

Seeing like 40 characters in a game and most of them are talking to them once and then the game says "No further content for this character"

I like a good buildup, not a slow chore. Some games a slow build up makes sense like dating my daughter, but others it's like WTF bro i got my dick in my hand right now, I'm not planning on jacking it for 4 hours straight, gimme something

Minigames really chap my hide when they can't be disabled. Hate minigames.

Eh, sandbox has its place. Games like Harem Hotel handle it pretty good. But, sandbox games also have to have limits or else the game won't progress too much. You also have to watch out for missing events because you were busy in another area with a different character.

When a dev abandons a game, only to "remaster" it... for the third time
