Best movie sequels of all time!

The best ever?... Aliens or T2. Those are movies that not only are good movies on their own, they also are good sequels, expanding the lore and plot of the previous ones

Aliens. So much better than the original.
100%. It also provides a great blueprint for other movies in that you can build up great tension in the beginning with horror/suspense elements but once you've seen the boogeyman, go full action.

The Empire Strikes Back is the best of the Star Wars pictures. And so vastly superior to Return of the Jedi in nearly every single way.

I'm speaking of both versions of the 1980 cut and no other. The 70mm premiere version and the more well known version with the replaced extra shots at the end and the fade in to Emperor hologram. The original Vinyl Double Album is killer. John Williams masterpiece. I don't think there is a single wasted minute of music in the picture.

The dedication of all involved to make it the best movie they could make it, you don't get that commitment these days.

I personally like attack of the clones. I grew up with it and it definitely gets a nostalgia bonus. But empire is definitely the best.

The duel in lightsaber duel in Clones is certainly underrated the one between Kenobi and Dooku, and Anakin and Dooku. It has worse acting from all the principal actors than Revenge of the Sith though. I think Ian is so good in Sith, he is delightfully wicked. And the prequels on the whole do have wooden dialogue and bad performances but are actually Star Wars.

empire strikes back is up there. obvisouly Aliens too. i thought dune 2 was actually a lot better than the first one

Back to the future Part II

I know they've probably all been said, but there are quite a few good ones. Aliens, The Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight, Top Gun: Maverick, John Wick 2-3-4, Thor: Ragnarok

There are films in a series that are not sequels, or not in the usual way. Like A Few Dollars More and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Along with a Fistful of Dollars they form a loose trilogy of sorts of standalone films.
