background music can be ok but any other noises get muted

I mute music and voice and I reduce the sfx. So I can listen other thing/music with sfx of the game

I turn the music way down and the voices/sounds down about halfway, unless they're annoying. If they're annoying they go all the way down.

Most game devs use music and sound effects from royalty free libraries, so it's off-putting to hear foley_hit_07ogg being used for a sex scene when it very clearly sounds like someone smacking a table. Same with music, I've heard some RPGmaker songs too many damn times to count. Solo game devs tend to be shit at audio mixing, too. I have an analyzer setup and sometimes games will have music/sound clip internally because they set the gain too high for the sound engine to use.

I sometimes have it on but mostly off I usually listen to my own music. I will listen if there's humor like eternum

I mute everything, I like just listening to my own music. I have tried playing with sound and music on, but I never keep it on.

Hello ... and yes ... it also works without music and sound effects ... but does it have to?

Most of the time, I turn down or mute the music in the game because it would become distracting

Does anyone else mute their audio while playing AVNs or is it just me?
Y E S, me too!
since the very firsts games that I played did not have audio, I just got used to it and when finally played a game that had them, It threw me off guard and felt weird so I just ended up turning them off.
and now every game I played is without sound.

The music is a mute but if the voice acting is at least decent and not the same 2-3 moaning sounds looped then i dont mute the VA

I used to press mute all from the settings but once in a game, sfx was NOT muted, and a loud moan woke up the whole block. Now i mute the game from windows settings

Don't really care for audio in games I tend to mute the in game audio any ways.

Music is really a choice for the dev. It can be hit or miss, but there are some AVN's that hit the mark with music.

Sounds and voices seem more like a waste of time honestly. Most sounds are just doors creaking or slamming and often rare/forgotten by the dev. Loud or obnoxious sounds are just annoying 9/10 I'll mute sounds.

Voice work is interesting but it just seems to become an after thought, or it lengthens development time on games. Plus voice work can cost money which makes an added expense for the dev.

It's all up to the dev what they choose to do, but I'll only test music and often mute the rest.

I turn them down, but most of the time I leave the audio on, just really quiet, some of the music is ok, but a lot is re-used.

I almost always turn down the music. leave the other sounds if they are decent

I prefer my own music and mute all game sounds 😇

First thing I do is mute all

I prefer some music but it needs to be way less loud than what most devs seem to set it to. In general I really hate it when games overuse sound effects though, but my favorite game uses them liberally so I guess it's not really a dealbreaker for me.
