Anyone else feel like AI art ruined porn?

i despise ai "art" to be honest. most of the stuff generative ai produces just feels empty and vacuous. what's that one quote where the guy was like "AI made me believe in the human soul by showing me what art looks like without it" or something? idk. i know a lot of people here like it, but even if you don't consider the impact its having on the power grid, its just not something i ever see myself enjoying or appreciating.
Ya but AI art is in its infancy and broad statements like that are no different than saying you despise brushes in art. AI is just a tool like photoshop or digital modeling. Sure its "soulless" now but the two biggest reasons for that is the methods artists use to make ai art hasn't truely been devoloped yet and the other is the technology isn't good enough on both hardware and software levels. Also human artists using AI should go over and finish the work by hand to fix the pieces, either because it looks wrong or to give it that human touch or soul. I'd expect in under a decade we start to see full length animated movies and shows made almost entirely with AI's doing the majority of the work.

Also you wont even realize it when you do start enjoying/appreciating it because at that point you will no longer be able to tell if something is AI without a disclaimer. 'AI girlfriends' have already become a thing and people cant tell, likewise you can video chat with an AI and not be able to tell if there's someone on the other end who knows what they are doing to direct the AI. Moo's right about it being like cars to horses compairison however if goverments regulate the hell out of AI it might force us to keep using horses long past the point where cars became better, safer, and cheaper option.

AI gets into legal issues, like if it used illegal images to create the new work, etc. I don't care for AI art that much, because a skilled user of VAM or HS2 can meet or beat it given enough time. I don't like that it's a shortcut, though it might be a decent way for a game programmer to gap fill until the real art content is ready.

Well said. AI is a tool, but as of right now, the real artists still have an advantage in storytelling.

I just can't get over how soul-less and uncanny valley AI art is. There's almost never a piece of AI that hits all the markers of good artistic expression and you really feel it when you are watching something AI animated whether it be AI videos or just still images. I have yet to find a single game with AI generated content that I've been able to stomach without getting slowly weirded out because I keep noticing irregularities that dehumanizes the characters which make it almost impossible for me to find it arousing.

This is doubly the case when it comes to """""""realistic""""""" (in the most exaggerated of quotation marks) AI arts. Nothing freaks me out more than the dead stare of AI generated eyeballs, and their just slightly inhuman positioning and physiology.

I personally think that in 2-3 years or so, AI would be capable of making straight up really good porn animations, would that beat man-made animations?, no, but it would be sick to see more and more animations of specific characters that you can just give details about to an AI and boom, done

not at all, I think we are about to unleash the floodgates on something insane, anyone will be able to generate porn on anything they want, and society will not know how to deal with it. It will be that streamer scandal where the guy got caught looking at deepfakes from other female streamers on steroids. New laws will be made to stop it, but it will be so stupid easy to make that it will be inevitable. Kids will grow into an age where their peers will generate porn with their mother being gangbanged by their classmates with giant cocks for the whole class to see, and they will grow desensitised to it over time as everyone will know it's not real. Loli content will be another colossal can of worms.

Of course it is pure spam right now because everything on the internet is spammed into oblivion with bots and farmers overruning everything like cockroaches, and it will probably get much worse before it begin getting better.

some devs use this as an advantage if your not an artist, then they will make their own different type of game tho but the downside of using ai is literally degraded porn art

as long as there is creativity with it then im okay. if its lazy then yeah it ruined it

I think it didn't ruin porn. It's just a tool that in combination with creativity could bring it to the next level.

It will only get better and provider developers a much need resource.

If you don't like AI art, just keep in mind that it's improving every minute. Just think of it as on its way to being something good.

... a skilled user of VAM or HS2 can meet or beat it [AI art] given enough time.

There was a game I found on another smaller site that took images created in VAM (I think) and then ran them through an AI convertor (or overlay IDK exactly) to make some really good AI images for their game. I don't know the reason the dev decided to do the art this way, but the end product was very impressive, and I could see a process like this being used more in the future.

As someone that's not a fan of HS2 or Koikatsu images (VAM is ok but still a little stiff) having a way to (IMO) improve images using those engines for games+ content is, to me, a bonus. I could see the same process being used in the future to "convert" real porn to AI images, which hopefully will mean that sometime in the future you'll be able to take a real porn scene that plays out in a bedroom and move the characters to anywhere you want. I think AI opens up a whole realm of possibilities for content generation.

And one last thing, while anyone can make an AI image, not just anyone can make a really good AI image, AI artists will be a thing in the future.

It's not like its impossible that in the future it will have the capacity to not look formulaic, but the technology is just not there.
In my opinion I don't think ai will ever have the same feel that human creation has but everyone can have there own opinion.

AI stories with AI images will start to be churned out by the hundreds daily. It will all be soulless derivatives of all the games here that they will have used to train their model. Some will have enough editing to be good enough, but the rest will bury anyone else. It will be increasing hard to find anything unique. Then, will the AIs copying from each other, they may end up poisoning all the models, so may ruin AI in future works. Or, maybe it will be fine. If I actually knew the future, I would be a multi billionaire living on my own island and I would have my butler write all my comments here.

I personally think that porn ruined porn, if that makes sense

When I see discussions like this, I am reminded of similar discussions from 10-15 years ago. Namely, that the advent of video killed real porn. Yes, you won't see lavish films shot on full color 35mm film anymore (except for restored versions transferred to BD), but the porn industry doesn't seem dead. Less dramatic, but no less revolutionary, is the transition from analog to digital media at the turn of the century. Same effect - the porn industry is alive.
AI is nothing more than a technical tool and how it will be used depends primarily on the developer.
