Anyone else feel like AI art ruined porn?

I don't think it's ruined it so much that it has crowded the market with low effort crap. Good games are still being made in steady supply, just now there's more junk to have to wade through.
What I'm looking forward to is playing an honestly good adult game with AI generated art, it's not there yet because the tools available apparently can't retain specific characters or locations for consistency from one rendered image to the next - but they presumably will eventually. Eventually we're sure to see a game with AI generated art paired with actual good writing and staging, an interesting premise and properly programmed and marketed. i.e. a game from someone with the time, work ethic and skills to make a good game, that just happens to lack the skills for creating 2d or 3d art.

No Saying AI is ruining art is like saying computers and photo shop is ruining art 20 years ago. Its different but AI is getting better at a pace unbelievable to most. On the other hand real Porn has gone down hill with fake everything surgeries and more and more milfs and less teens. Back when I was 18 Pornstars were too old at around 24-25 and only a few made it to 'MILF' Status and those were the 'queens' back in the day. Now it seems like the average age of girls in porn is like 27.

They can!
Well, mostly. It isn't gonna be 100% perfect, but using things like controlnet you can definitely keep it consistent enough that most people wouldn't really notice the difference. Inpainting also helps a lot and can fix most minor issues.
However that raises the question if it wouldn't be faster to just hire someone to do the art instead, because fixing all the details takes a lot of time anyway.

I suppose that can still be a good alternative if you are either unskilled in art yourself or don't have the money to hire an artist, but I doubt there are many people willing to put so much dedication and effort into creating an actually good game, only to use AI art at the end.
What I think is gonna become more and more common is artists using AI to speed up the process, which is already happening here and there. It seems that western artists are still holding firmly to the anti-ai bs, but I'ver seen quite a few Japanese artists that started posting AI on their Pixiv's, be it "AI-assisted" stuff or just full plain gens.

I can't draw, with AI I can make something in twenty seconds that an artist would take a day. the proliferation of AI images is only natural. I for one welcome our new AI overlords.

it is bad currently because the contents created by ai is really low quality, and people using those typically have bad taste and puts in minimal effort. If the quality increased in the future it should be more of a benefit.

Hhhhmmmm I am not too sure on this. On one hand, I know how difficult it can be to tease a specific and satisfactory result out of generative AI.

On the other hand, my signifcant other(SO) is an artist, and the nature of the struggle between what they do and what an AI prompter does is both vastly different and at times similar. My SO uses AI to create works for reference and inspiration. We've even trained a LORA on their art so they can use it to make their process easier.

I've seen some absolutely beautiful and surreal AI pieces that I absolutely think have intrinsic artistic value, but none of that would be possible without artists having created the foundation for AI. But also, an unused tool serves no purpose, so AI would be intrinsically worthless without those sitting on the other end generating images.

So I think my current position is that AI can (and in some cases does) have intrinsic artistic and pornographic value, but where it shines the most is when the artist meets the AI in holy union.

AI is an amazing asset.
However, it has to be acknowledged that it's as always climbing on shoulders of people better than it. After all, AI is fed images of either real people or various artists. There are models which are specifically trained off artstyle from specific artists. Due to the fact that lot of artists are consistent, it's easier for AI to replicate fraction of their talent.
It... certainly leaves a bitter taste in mouth.
At the same time, it's one of the biggest advancements in entertainment. Everyone with a decent PC now can generate images of their liking. Hell, dedicate their entire years to making AI model and perfecting it.
It has opened way for people who aren't artistically inclined to get images they want. Lot of people are very simple. They don't need a fancy image to be happy.
I've seen some people do fantastic job by taking AI images and perfecting them to be barely recognizable from AI. One of the people who comes in mind is Nyx. Man who does anime themed comics and images.
Other is ShiroV2 (Artist of the Little Witch Academy). Fantastic looking images and consistent art.
That being said, I don't like usual 90% of AI art. it's very generic, very boring and looks the same.

Beside that, AI is contributing to development of games. One of the limiting factors was that people could learn to code and script. But they couldn't either afford to draw or didn't want to commit so much time to DAZ models and posing. I for one look forward to see how AI art evolves.

I don't think it ruined it per say, it can used as a tool to improve things, however I don't like the stuff thats all AI generated for sure.

It's insulting art and artists in general, not only in porn. It's not ruining them because I believe at some point this nonsense will stop. I mean, why would I waste my time on something that no one wasted his/her time on doing it?
And sort from that, the images in those programes are trained using human artist's work without consent and there's no consequence in doing so. It's disgusting.

I have to disagree with one part.
That it's going to stop. If anything, it won't unless it's HEAVILY regulated by the governments. it's going to get more and more mainstream.
You have to understand that whenever there's an easily accessible tool that makes everyone's lives easier, people jump onto that train and ride it for as long as humanely possible.
Unless there's specifically laws against it and artists can in fact prove that their artworks are being stolen in a massive lawsuit, it simply won't stop.

If anything, technology progresses. The tools get better. More precise, accurate. Combined with the obsession some people have, there can be some outstanding models released.
You'll on top of all that likely see social media pushing more and more to "claim" any images you post as their or at very least as public domain and use them to fuel their AI.

Nah, AI isn't that good yet in my opinion.
AI porn doesn't really inerest me.

Correct. It's something that evolves over time. Just like majority of tools.
Compare for example Gen 3 DAZ models and current Gen ones.
Or earlier iterations of Blender vs current ones.

I don't feel it ruines anything.
It's an additional style or genre. Doesn't replace anything else.
It will most likely improve a lot the next few months/years.

Can see that a lot of low-quality games appear because of the low effort required to generate graphics.

I don't agree that it ruins anything. I don't like AI art so I don't watch it. I ignore every AI thread and game. Some like it though so let them play with it, why not? I look at it as some different art style. People like all sorts of things, variety is good so to each their own...

I don't think it did. Ai content is always gonna considered lesser version of content in most cases.

It's shit but i can ignore it, more concerned about the chumps that pay someone for ai porn. They need help.

YES thank you. finally someone said it. I hope that AI will get better over the next years so you cant tell.

I think overall AI stuff is always kinda mediocre. Some can be good but its mostly just eh
