To distract from the nerd shit, are any of you old enough to remember k mart? I was still a kid in the 90s but I fuckin miss k mart.

$1.50 for a refillable soda, popcorn, and hot dog. Blue light specials. Huge section for movies, games, and toys. I'm reliving the store trips in my cubicle listening to this playlist.

I was grown for the vast majority of the 90s and remember it. I remember it from the late 70s and 80s. Hell, it's talked about a lot in the movie Rain Man.

So you saw it in its heyday, that's what's up. The k mart in my hometown didn't renovate at all so it had all the wood paneling from the 70s/80s and the logo on the outside. It stayed like that until it closed in the 10s. I hated when they swapped the old snack bar for pizza hut though. We didn't have a mall so that was the hang out spot. We only had 2 high schools so it was always fun meeting those students, outside of the fights.

I think there are some threads nobody checks, especially public any. Do you use any other reactions for especially good images? I think I only saw purple heart from you everywhere for everybody.

It’s not just some generic way of showing affection—purple is my favorite color, so technically that’s my ultimate expression of affection: a purple heart (though it loses some of its impact because I use it all the time, I know). I only switch it up when it’s really necessary.

I still check those public threads tbh. Sometimes with the cooldown on likes I end up missing a few images I actually liked because I forget to go back later.

Personally I tend to gravitate more toward anime or semi-realistic stuff though, not so much the fully realistic images. But that’s just preference, doesn’t mean people dislike your posts. Maybe public threads just move weirdly sometimes.

Also curious now, what did you end up deciding on? Did the VN/Renpy-style idea grow on you?

I normally use renpy, but for simple online games I did not like the 50 MB overhead of the engine so I moved to pure JavaScript.

Ohhh I think I explained it badly then lol.

I meant for the “Choose Your Own Adventure” thread itself, like using VN-style text boxes inside the images instead of speech bubbles directly on them.
