Yep, 100% this. Tho, there are cases when groups only play 1 system to the detriment of the group. I once got invited to a game of 5e where they homebrewed the shit out of it to make it be mechs and pilots, and I was like, Lancer or Mutants and Masterminds would suit your wants and needs better.
Homebrew is good, but only to some certain point. Completely converting the setting might be a bit much. 5e is really built around the usual fantasy world.

Do you guys play video games harder on workdays than during holidays? I feel way more motivated to play when I’m busy with work compared to long stretches of free time. Like, during long holidays I’d rather just doomscroll because there’s nothing to do, but during breaks between work hours I’ll grind my games really hard.

It certainly feels like when I have a day off, I always think to myself 'well I've got all this time, I'll just watch a couple videos first before playing' and then it just devolves from there into me not hopping on to a game til like 7pm anyway.

I am the exact opposite. When I have work to do, I'm too busy thinking about the work to focus on gaming. I have to be done with anything important before I can sit down and enjoy a game. But I can doomscroll for a few minutes while I'm in between tasks.

Yup, but mostly because I like to spend the weekend with my girlfriend and my family. They keep being entertaining, but I lose interest in games after some time.

Ah yes, I know you! From Zimbabwe, right? We went to home school together!
Damn, now YOURE doxxing me?! How could you do that to me? We used to share socks, you got the left one and I got the right one. Of course this was on account of both of us having a peg leg.

Do you guys have the same mom teaching you or something? How does homeschooling together even work?

Wow, okay, you didn't have to get personal and bring up the peg leg we both got when we lost our opposite legs in the tragic ice farming incident of '89.

Still my favorite sock tho. I sleep with it every night.

Dang, you guys are that close? So when’s the wedding?

Anyone calling the edition that brought the game into pop culture to the extent that 5e has is not only wrong, but jaded as hell and just saying shit to be a contrarian. I never really understood the whole 'this edition is bad' angle. They all play their own way, and it isn't like older editions become inaccessible when a new one comes out. It's like, just play the edition you prefer then?
Eh, while I agree that calling it straight up bad is kinda stupid, it is definitely quite rules light in some things, and I can 100% see why it wouldn't be someones thing

Which is totally cool, it's impossible for a single game to be a game for everyone. But the other options are still there for those people to enjoy.

Yesterday, you missed the invitation?
Nah man, I’m the priest, remember? I officiated your wedding by making you two touch the penis tips together.

sorry, couldn't come, was jacking it to some random game ... did I miss much?
You missed everything. We danced, touched tips, played guitar hero, and yodelled.

Honestly, I was black out drunk after 8 AM. Did you participate in the touching of tips as well?
