That's part of why it's popular i'd say. Something unique about a fully functional hermafrodite that reaches a lot of notes in the many spectrums of people's sexuality. Things like a partner with wich you can naturally make use of all your pleasure receptors, all kinds of fetishes that would otherwise be restricted to a single gender. Probably speaks too with those that while desiring to the opposite gender's form has still grown attached to some of the tools their biology provided.
