I really enjoyed Divinity 2, I loved the original BG and NWN, I've heard good things about BG3 but I'm waiting for at least a 50% off sale.
I may do the same and reinstall NWN with the expansions, it was so much fun back then.

I bought BG3 in Early Access, replayed the first chapter so many damn times. Every time the game updated, I had to restart from scratch. Finally said, fuck it, and wanted to wait until the final release. Then the final release came out and I spent more time making cheats. Then the game would update once a day, and I had the familiarity of starting over every time. Coop was great though, I think I put like 200+ hours into the game at retail and still never beat it.

Fuck that pandering show, doesn't celebrate the things we like it, it just says fuck you here is what other people are laughing at you about you stupid nerds.

I don't buy games that are 25% done but full price. Early Access I have no problem paying for a beta for a game that's mostly complete but they are just adding extras in. But only 25-30% of the story and not even all the classes? Pass, I have enough games lined up i can wait a couple of years

The problem is that there's a lot of games that seems to never go out of early access, probably to keep the game in a messy state not receiving complaints, because "the game isn't final yet".

Interesting take on that -- I worked in a lab and was surrounded by nerds (including me) - a lot of it I could identify in some of my friends so I ignored what might apply to me and giggled a lot. Kinda like any movie about Vietnam, WW2 and so on - yep all that stuff happened - but NEVER to the same group of 4 or 5 guys

I think early access was only 40 bucks, it's the reason I got it when I did. I'm a cheapskate, I have a bunch of hobbies and will be frugal as hell when it comes to any luxuries that aren't said hobbies. Coffee is the exception, I spend way too much on Coffee...

I think I have a physical copy of 7 Days to Die on console like PS3/ or 360/One? It's still in Steam Early Access, or was until recently.

72d2 came out for PS4 and XB1 a few years ago as early access, and it fully released a month or so ago.
It's a fun game, but like any survival game you get to a point where you can do whatever you want without consequence.

true but look at genshin impact, they had a good idea, fresh idea. now days that game hardly gets updates, it's shitty and I should know as a player. they still made billions of dollars (wet dream of every company) but they refuse to update the game correctly. it's the same "open area with nothing worth to loot". if the characters weren't cute and combat fun that game would be dead after 2 weeks.

this is where I ask for a single player version offline with no payments of genshin impact. but I will never get one without fucking the boss at that company.

most companies will never reach a game like this, they don't have what it takes. so they keep making shitty games hoping to hit the jackpot. most of them don't want good single player games that sells lots of copies because it's not enough.

Yeah, I edited that post afterward and realized the mistake. I remember people complaining about it a bit recently, which made me think of it. I think I do have some games on Steam still wishlisted, that are like 5-6+ years added, and still be announced. Still, I buy shit all the time, that I've never touched.

That is every gacha game, release shit until you have a stable playerbase, then bleed them dry. Every mobile game does the exact same plan, release stuff until you get used to it, then just make minor tweaks and release character skins so you feel like you have a shiny new toy.

GTA Online and Fortnite, are great examples. Then you have an oversaturated market of people wanting to follow the example, and they fail catastrophically.
