Japanese censorship law are pretty out date and have never been reviewed for last 100 years or so. It was designed to sensor genitals due to the western puranic society who expressed their shock against traditional Japanese art, which was very risky according to them. I don't remember seeing any gore censored. As for USA. I have no idea their rule and laws. It seems very conflicting and to be there to confuse rather than help. I don't i know about Japans international trade laws. I expect they sensor what is required by the international community rather than just what USA suggest. I guess you can google search to find out. I got no idea. yes, it still happens today. In some ways getting worse. USA is just nonsense rules but this is how it is.

Yeah the japanese censoring is just because of the weird leftover law unfortunately, and no japanese porn producer dares to challenge these laws by releasing something uncensored. I think the censoring of genitalia just became accepted as some form of culture as well. Like its THE trademark for any japanese porn nowadays.

Some people actually like the censoring, since it leaves room for "imagination". I can kinda understand what they mean, but i also wish to see everything sometimes.
