Well I wouldn't say 3 years sentence even if its in shape of unsupervised probation and a fine of 2/years the average salary is a small fine, neither if I want to be judged by a legal system that requires more than $100.000 for appeal a sentence But probably is the same in any corner of the world, the poor are always fucked.

It was considered illegal, because the content itself was considered illegal. The customs just happened to notice it. Theoretically the same ending should happened if the content was produced internally. If I recall well the guy had a 4 month sentence.
