Except, having been in Canada, it's weirder than that, imo

When you ask "How far is it to City X". The answer is "Oh, about an hour away."
"How far to the grocery store?" "Not far. About 5 minutes that way."

In practical terms... Canadians measure distances... in minutes and hours...
Any other countries do that? (honestly asking)
In reality it's less a measure of distances as it is a measure of duration of transit in this context. People are usually more interested in how long it'll take them to get somewhere as opposed to how far they've travelled. It helps nail down ETA's or necessary departure times if you've got something you need to be in time for. The most obvious place we see this if you think about it is on train or bus timetables. As far as I am aware they never tell you the distance but the transit time.

All of those are delicious!
And, also, you sound like a fancy sumbitch!
I'm an old fart that's had a lot of time and opportunity to experience things. Also spent many years wining and dining clients before ending up as a hospitality exec. I ate on expense account with clients, and for a huge discount or for free when I worked for restaurant companies. I've been blessed to try many things, learned to cook quite a few of them and, at one point when I was laid up for a few weeks after I broke a leg, watched a ton of "Food Network".

While I do like a lot of the "finer things", I'm also happy to grill a greasy burger, chop bacon into box mac-n-cheese, or do an easy quesadilla on the Foreman. ;)

Aargh. This has been an exhausting weekend, and I'm actually looking forward to the week. I entertained guests which ended up being a lot of work, and prevents me from doing what I want to do.

Okay, I'll stop whining now :) ...

But seriously, it doesn't look there's much new to see in the Games+, so I don't think I missed much. Oh well.

Any preference or suggestions for VPN?

Did you just censor the words CUNT and DICK?
On this forum?
I like Proton, but there are others.

And quit being a cunt! If someone wants to self-censor, let them, ya' dick! ;)

When you go out and look at the VPNs people suggest, make sure you double check that you choose one that doesn't keep logs. An example would be the Proton VPN somebody else suggested. You can also consider a variety of others like Private Internet Access VPN. I personally like Proton Mail for anonymous email, so their policies seem to be pretty protective of their customers.

Too bad, indeed!
That makes two of us...

However, for all practical purposes, Wednesday is the end of my disordered week...
'cause it's "hump day"!

Do you happen to know what that gif is from? It feels familiar but I can't quite place it.
I saw some art in an anime girl thread where that character was being used and it was referred to as "Megumin". Check with @4rcan1st - it was his thread and his images.

I think a lot of places do that. Here we usually say "Go straight all life" just to say you're on the right path, but it will be long until you get there.

Is that a country thing, or a rural/urban thing? If I'm in an urban area, I'm not giving distance in time, because (other than being relative) traffic dictates the time it takes. It's always "about half a mile/kilometer that way (depending upon where I am), or a few hundred yards/meters, or three stops on the subway. If I'm out in the countryside, then it's often in hours or minutes. "It's about 15 minutes to the closest pub." "I'm about an hour from your house." "It's about three hours to the big city." But that's just me, guessing the type of answer the person wants and what fits into the conversation.
