I think it's all just a holdover from alimony (if I got the word right).

Married? Cool. You split? The partner gets half of everything plus a check for like... forever (in some countries).

It's all about the money. There are now countries in progress (or maybe it's actually law now) to make prenups illegal.
That's right. They cheat. They break up. They get your money anyways. Piece of paper be damned.
Is there a way to be together for X years and go "see ya" on both sides with no checks? It's pretty rare I think. Might actually be nowhere on Earth.

I could very well be wrong and it's experience and bitterness talking. I'll give you that.

Marriage and divorce have their own problems, but at least if you're signing a marriage form you are doing that knowingly and had an opportunity to talk to a lawyer about what potential benefits and risks there are to you for doing it. My main issue with common law marriage is that while people should know all of their local laws, that's not a realistic expectation, especially for at this point a kind of law that's both relatively rare in the US and where there's almost no downside to not having it except for very exceptional circumstances where there is no alternative.

It's funny to me that the best rank in here coin system is P4, because in France P4 was during the time were there were still conscription, the symbol for people who were exempt because of mental illness.

It's an apt descriptor, then.

You mean...
...there are places...
...where we CAN'T marry turtles and dogs?

I think... that's all the places, actually.

[kurgan]

Pretty much this.

50 LC (10 posts) take about 6 months to go to 4 digits with bank interest alone, and P4 takes a year.

Getting reactions boosting you to 4 ciphers means you shave off half the time... possibly more. Took me about 3 months to get in P4 range.

The truth is without likes, I would have stopped being active after reaching members+ and l would have lost the opportunity to be part of the terrific community of this (not so much) lurker thread!

Yeah, me too. I also thought it was a great take on the idea of 'never let the truth get in the way of a good story'. The 'I can neither confirm or deny the facts of that story' line along with the one that precedes it shows quite succinctly how, in that sort of environment (spy/intelligence agency) with employees who may have a similar background (former military/special forces), in the absence of concrete information a story can be concoted from rumours and from that story eventually a legend is born. The fact that Fury by all accounts from his appearances was bad ass enough to back up the legend through his actions only made it all the more plausible.

Spoiler: i shall bully the ocean as well as the slum then

Okay, WHAT game is this? It looks like "Goat Simulator", but a lot less stupid and a lot better in terms of gameplay.
"Goat Simulator" isn't bad, but some of the derpy physics get tired after a while.

Love the "Xeno-muffs".

Spoiler: insert alien meme

Are these "Pussymbiotes"?

And you had just recovered from the Nova incident. Get well soon! (And don't eat the yellow jello - it gets its color from the disposed "collections".)

The deciding factors now are no longer really the laws of individual countries, but the laws in the largest market. Things will be designed/developed/manufactured to the laws and regulations of the largest market where the product will be sold. If there is anything that needs to be added/cut to comply with laws in a smaller market then it will be done so just for those items sold in that market. If the standards of the larger market are acceptable in other markets without changes then no changes will be made. It's all about minimising costs and maximising profits.

As an example the European Union passed legislation requiring all new build cars to have an automatic speed/rev limiter fitted from a certain date (I forget when). Now this limiter can be turned off through the onboard menus but will reset every time the engine is turned off, the idea being people will get used to it or get tired of turning it off all the time so will end up leaving it. Now there is no requirement for such a system for cars in the UK but it will still be there. It is not going to be something you can request to be not implemented.

Now while I can understand the rationale and the theory behind this idea, what it does is not factor in what will be some of the real world consequences. It will be great in urban areas where speed limits are fairly consistent from street to street but when you start heading to main highways or rural areas it is going to cause gridlock and bring traffic to a halt in certain areas as there are several junctions where you will have to try going from 0 up to 60 very quick in order to actually get out onto the road without risking causing an accident.

Engineering human behavior via the "nanny state" principal.

"Your individual freedoms and rights don't matter - just do what we tell you and everything will be alright. Or don't - we have reeducation camps and will whip you right into shape!"

The Canadians are just jealous of our freedomly-ness.
Also, metric measurement is superior.
Except for temperatures. Celsius is good for the lab, but saying it's 32.4 outside is stupid. Fahrenheit FTW

well... I probably should avoid put an American and Canadian in the same petting cage. It could end badly for someone lol
Yes, no one can tell me imperial is at all good. it is just confusing and to me useless. i know America loves imperial but seriously, metric is much much more accurate. As for F Vs C.. well... I must admit I have no understand about the temperature in F. it to me is like alien language and Celsius is much better, but actually I wont say it is 35.5c it is more like 35c or 40c. or 32c ect. There is no .5 that I ever notice, but I grow up with Celsius so I guess whatever works is fine. As long we all can know when its dam hot or dam cold.

0ºC - Solid water
100ºC - Gas water

Way better than some random numbers like ºF.

Oh great Slum I have been derelict in my duties lately please forgive me. Also please grant me strength as I return to work this week, it will be the first time in over two weeks where I don't have a alcoholic drink in my hand any time I'm awake so I beseech you to bestow patience unto me so I don't snap on all the asshats I work with. I also pray that we see the safe return of overlord @Guz89 soon, their spirit has taken up residence temporarily in the cutie innocent @Guz but without the power of the mask to keep the degens in check the Lurker Thread is quickly turning lawless, with double and triple postings everywhere, and one daring rascal even posted a real persons image.

Praise the Slum!
May the sleaze be with you.
And let your bananas be ever tasty!
Ever your humble servant the Şehzade of Sleaze

I added Jalapenos and pepper jack cheese instead of normie mac-n-cheese. I feel fancy.
Plus, I saved about $60

and saving money?

i still want the sleaze reaction to disappear since so many users like it

Just in case it is watching right now

Only lore you need to know is that Sleaze React is the one you should use.

oh shit, did I just get recruited into a sleaze cult, because I instantly joined with no question haha

and I was going to read through it all, I went back to page 1 lol

I just decided there is only one reaction, unless there is some terrible post to react to... The reaction will be the sleaze, so, I will join the sleaze reaction club. seems to be the way to go... (mostly). Just sleaze away i say. So, if you get sleaze from me its compliment.

Welcome to the Sect brother and sister!
Our numbers grow daily! Perhaps I should make some new propaganda literature with the new members on it

I would recommend waiting until getting P1 before starting at page 1 that way you can just
without a cooldown

And don't listen to the idiot pushing it's sleaze. It has it's place but if someone posts something
very funny or you're reacting to someone's heart felt post or creative images it's actually very
bogus and insulting

Your time is yours, but maybe you don't want to end growing a long, long white beard...

I don't remember that picture being taken of me

Honestly I normally wait for 2-3 updates of a game before I look at it again, because most games it's a short scene then waiting a month or two for more. If you wait you get more meat on the bone.

I usually just download them all once a year. Them play them throughout

All hair colors are great...
Buut, no secret, I like blondies a little more.

I had to scroll back up when I say Slum's sig on here I thought for sure this was a Bonk response
