Got back myself a couple days ago. I left before anything like this 'lurk hideout' existed. The main reason was cuz I just wasn't comfortable with interacting with anyone really. But for my surprise, it looks easier here. It's a very entertaining thread even if you don't interact and just reads and try to understand the bazillion random topics being discussed simultaneously. Stick around and I think it'll grow on you.

That's much better than what I was trying to put together. Since the name looked like it could be pronounced similar to "phallus", I was looking for a decent cartoon/3d "shaft" oriented the proper direction, and then give it a fox head and tail.

Found lot's of fox stuff, but no good "shafts" going the right direction.

All this nap talk going on makes me think about when your young would hate taking them. Parents make you. Now hell I look forward to the weekends and can take a nap during the day. I'd do it everyday if I didn't have to work

yeah planned naps are fine, but unplanned that came out of nowhere, when potentially you still got stuff to do are annoying
but when you play with zombie nation

and getting 3/4h of main sleep per day per duration are also required for normal body function
specially when you are walking among zombies for a year or more. - well i have been there and am too old to repeat it.
sleep is nice if you can get it uninterrupted.

That don't feel right. Like I'm taking a man's life.
And not in the good way either.

I can't imagine my PC being able to handle the AI stuff, though. The background removal and large 3D transforms really stress my system.
I'd bet it has to be another 5GB on top, too.


I'd have to struggle through it. I get tempted by a nap, but it's always a regrettable decision if I take one.

yeah if only 5gb that's nothing for those days, but yeah for sure you would need recent tech and good version of it to run it. that part is not surprising.

First impression after so much time is that everything looks a lot 'flashier' than I remember, like everybody got an amazing customized profile and whatnot. I also did hesitate a bit before posting since this felt like entering a crowded bar and asking for directions standing in the middle of the room

Also those tips about compressing games I don't play as much anymore and backing up zips only rather than my entire folder are really handy. Appreciate it!

While it isn't much for storage, programs that big tend to be resource hogs.
sdforge is only 2 GB and beats my PC like a redheaded stepchild.

It didn't work on 3 browsers. So I was complaining, pretty much...

Well, I know he was a wise old monk character, but it looks like he could barely walk.

My niece is college aged and very good with the new math. I think she would have been good with the old math, too. Just learned a different way. She gets all the right answers, though.

I'm sure they fine tuned and tweaked it, but it was a fuckin' mess when they started.

But, being from the midwest, education was always a little demonized. Maybe it's a little jealousy
I think, from seeing it over the years, most of the people who leave and go to college never come back or get a great job and live in a more populated place.

Maybe it had something to do with that "No Child Left Who Could Spell Behind" or whatever that dumb shit was- worked really well...
Let's lower the standards of everything- so dumb people don't feel dumb.

One of the cash registers that spits out the correct change broke down once on me, I had to count it out with the girl to give me correct change. Took 15 minutes!

But, if she was having less than mediocre grades, maybe she was lying about what the teacher actually wanted. Or didn't understand.
We had a class in HS called "Business Math." They covered addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. That's all they covered. Literally 6th grade shit.
The seats were full every period, every semester. You had to pass at least that class to get a diploma. They didn't even teach percentages or fractions!
Maybe that girl should restart with business math is what I'm saying.
