Well, that's the reason Disney acquired them, more money. Whether it's a decent film or not doesn't matter if it's fun.
Also, more movies means more merch! And the big fans will
buy the merch and they'll make more merch for the fans to buy!
There are 1560 Marvel Funk Pops.
All great movies, I would add Shang Chi (Kung Fu-ish), Black Panther (more serious & political) and Guardians of the Galaxy (buddy cop western space vibes).
I don't really pay a lot of attention to user reviews, so I can't attest to them. But they were definitely different, and had a lot of unknown characters.
I haven't really been excited to see a Marvel movie since No Way Home, and then only because I knew there were all 3 Spideys. Before that, probably Endgame.
I was pleasantly surprised by Shang Chi, but irritated with Widow. Then Eternals came out, so much hype for a trash bag of a movie (IMO)
I haven't seen what Feige has said, but he's been at the head of the table, so I hope he can make the changes needed.
I think over saturation may be part of it. We're all probably getting sick of the same aesthetic. The same people are making the same decisions on the same types of movies... It makes the movies feel stale.
I don't think I knew that Multiverse of Madness and No Way Home were switched in release. Although NWH was really good. (it felt like some of the scenes were in the wrong order) MoM felt like it should have been a stand alone movie. Especially if you didn't watch WandaVision (I didn't)
Taika is a good director from what I've seen, and an even better Korg. But, Love and Thunder should have been more serious. Too much slapstick and one-liners for a serious story like that.
I don't know that Taiki is comfortable on the serious side of it all.
The overworked and oversaturation are probably why they just let him do whatever. They probably should have given extra time for COVID stuff and pushed stuff back more. But, they made a boatload of cash, so they're considered a success.
I should watch those... there's just so much now, I have to watch them in order, or some things won't make sense!
I'll definitely watch She Hulk and Secret Invasion, too!
Eternals as an artsy film? I can see it, in parts. It probably should have been two movies. One with more origins and intro to monsters, ending at the village. Second the villain reveal and expand from there. There were good parts of that movie, but a lot of crap jammed in as well.
I've literally never heard of Werewolf by Night until just now.
I haven't seen Deadpool 3 yet (yarrr - better version when) but it seems like they're veering in the right direction.
Kang fell through pretty hard. I keep seeing people talking about how he was a good villian in Loki. But, then he was in Quantumania and that movie was awful.
Although, I worry RDJ as Dr Doom with be the one movie, just to torture Spidey. (like Spidey hasn't had it bad enough)
Fantastic 4 is coming out next summer, a year before Avengers 5: Doomsday. So they had to have had a Dr. Doom before they announced RDJ as Dr. Doom, right?
Sorry it took so long to reply!
