Can someone explain to me the hype for GTA6? It looks a little fancier than 5 but its probably going to play almost the exact same way. Is fancy lighting and a new map really worth $100? Or even worse, worth a $100 pre-order on a digital only game? Feels like Im living in THEY LIVE sometimes.

It's GTA everyone's childhood game. And to be fair no one makes open world game like rockstar does.

I will say, i kind of feel like it is overhyped because of a couple main reasons.

GTA games were so groundbreaking because of their pushing of the mature rating of video games. They had sex, drugs, violence (against police, which was pretty unheard of), and actual nudity. All of this attached to a fun game. However I feel as tho 6 is going to suffer from what a lot of games do these days, and thats american censorship. If you look at a game like Conan Exiles, it had nudity in it, but in the US it was basically half censored. A lot of games are just straight up afraid to put nudity in their games. I was very surprised by baulders gate 3 having as much as it did and being as succesful as it was. So the things that made GTA stand out as unique, isnt going to be as ground breaking this many iterations in.

In addition, GTA 5 had a very long and succesful run. GTA online was fun, at first, but then it suffered really bad from microtransactions, cheating, and creating such an awful grind it felt like a real job. Will they learn from this in 6 when online mode inevitably happens? Time will tell.

Now im not saying it wont be a good/fun game. I think it will be, but I do think it will be overhyped. It is 3rd person so in my personal opinion it will at least be better then cyberpunk. (I tried to like that game many times, just cant do it stuck in 1st person for the entirety of a game that isnt a FPS.)

Starting from PC release (roughly 1 year after console release as I've heard)

How much time do you think it will take for modders to include lots of sexual activities in it (I'm not talking about just nude strippers or erotic posters)

With a setup like that featuring both male and female protagonist it's pure gold

I would bet on 5 - 6 months maximum

The NTR/ Anti NTR war will go on a whole other level also i'm afraid

I mean, I hope they just actually include nudity as a natural part of the game like cyberpunk or baulders gate 3. But thats probably too much to ask for.

I'm not sure about NATURAL nudity, probably not..but i do remember one of the leaks showcasing a nudist party in someone's backyard.

In the end it's about management on the long run (about GTA6). To have a game come out in a finished state with most of promises kept is already something rare nowadays, but the real trial will be about the multiplayer, and politics of the editor / studio about modding

A solo campaign has an end, you can do it multiple times at most, but a time eventually comes when pretty much everything except 2 or 3 easter eggs have been discovered and shared with everyone

Multiplayer on the other hand, and the potential mods that come with it has an infinite potential. (ofc you can also have mods for the solo but you get what i mean)

I am actively playing a game right now that went out more than 20 years ago (jedi academy w the moviebattles 2 overhaul mod), still has a devoted player base and a team that takes care about the mod, still updating it as of today
