New "Hack" Snyder trailer? :p
Welcome back Other SD, hope you got some good sleep! :p
Yeah, not alot happened today, when you where gone.
Thank you, kindly.
I don't know if I'd call it sleep. It just kinda happens, everything goes dark, and then I'm suddenly back in my body surprised that I'm not dead. 🤣
More like "La Petite Mort", tbth.
I don't hear of feel anything during those little "rest" periods.

Holy shit. This triggered an old memory:
I was watching either Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness with a friend. I forget which.

At one point he paused the VCR and said "Now I get why Hollywood does it."

"Get what?" I replied.

"The facial wounds." he said "They're consistent throughout the movie. It's attention to detail. I should love that... but I don't. Seeing the cuts on his face for the whole movie irritates me and I don't know why. It makes no sense, I know, but if the wounds were gone by the next scene, I'd enjoy the movie more."

The point? Maybe people like him are the reason why Hollywood does what it does when it comes to movies. Random thought... I know.
WHY would Ash have regenerative powers? Don't watch movies with that friend. 🤣
I hope you're right... but it could also be a lootbox thing.

I hate lootboxes. But the reality is, they wouldn't exist if they didn't make money. Which means "enough" people like them to keep lootboxes as viable profit method.

If... and do mean IF... we're wrong and people actually love that kinda stuff (lootboxes, current movies, etc...), it's gonna stay.

Now the complicated fact is, is attendance down in theatres because:
-of the quality?
-of the message?
-or more people just "discovered" that streaming movies "aren't that much worse an experience, is cheaper, and more convenient"? (i.e. COVID taught them that)

Let me be clear, I'm hoping dickness all around is right... but I'm afraid what entertainment will look like in a generation if dickness all around is wrong...
I don't like gachas or the Lego Minifigure blind-bags/(now obnoxious "eco-friendly") blind boxes, but that doesn't stop me from buying a case every time a new set is released... So they keep making them. I keep buying them. The cycle is never ending. 🤣

I don't visit the cinema, but after that last "Spider-verse" movie. People were really upset that scenes and dialogue had been changed between the theatrical, streaming, and physical releases...
I don't know IF this has been happening with other movies, but it wouldn't surprise me.
You would think that it would technically be "illegal" and fall under the category "bait-and-switch".
But Hollywood's gotta Hollywood.
I just know that it would definitely keep me out of the theatre knowing that they pull that kinda crap.
There's been more than one power ranger murderer.
Ooh, really? How many do ya reckon? 🤣

Sounds like a meth-head when they have "brown-outs"
Where you're technically asleep and awake, the power in the brain is like a flickering lightbulb.

(Red ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force)

killed a couple for their yacht (I think he was just in Power Rangers, not a ranger himself)

(green ranger in Mighty Morphin) killed... himself... :(

The father of modern computing/AI test, was chemically castrated? No shit? I know he died from cyanide poisoning/suicide...
Genius in many fields of science and the arts are rarely appreciated outside of their fields during their time. The only real exception to this phenomena is the world of sport, so what does that tell us about our priorities as a civilization?:(

I'm good!
About 60% of my notifications today are deleted images though, so that's putting a damper on things.
Luckily, I only had around a couple dozen get Thanosed. Sucks, but i can't blame the mods for just doing their jobs.

Not really sure we can count Skylar DeLeon. Had an uncredited role as a kid in a single episode in 94. But yes was still apart of PW

Hell I had 2 that said they were deleted. I don't even create AI Art. So I must of had some AI gifs or something I used.

That may be true, but he definitely had the most crazy crimes so far.

Points for creativity?

Time for a boot to the brain!

Or is it a liver punishment?

Lootboxes though broadly work off of exploiting people's addiction. People hate their addiction, but are still compelled to do it. They aren't even necessarily enjoying the activity, the thrill is largely gone, they are fulfilling a compulsion.
Very true.

Though, sadly, it doesn't stop corporations from exploiting people.

We need lawyers in those countries that say "It's not gambling." to go to judges and say "Fine. It's not gambling. We'll take the legal steps to call it 'randomized purchases'. Now that that's done, let's make laws for randomized purchases."

It'll never happen, but it'd be great if it did.

I doubt it would make difference if you changed the name of it. People will buy them anyway.
It FEELS like gambling, and that's the thing that people are addicted to. The feeling of a chance to win and the feeling of achievement if you do win.

Hell, 82% of people (in a survey) had purchased a microtransaction in the past year. If 82% of people will pay real money for a fake item, they'll pay to gamble to win a fake prize as well.

Wow, blast from the past. That was one of the first movies my family and I watched as a kid on our brand new VHS player

Oh yes, I've been a plumber and a mechanic. Youtube videos actually made the problem better and worse.
"So and so on youtube says to do it this way!" or "So and so on youtube said to call a professional"

WHAT THE FUCK is this supposed to be?

THE 20th? Like that specific day?

Uhh, I have to plead ignorance and innocence here.

The choreography was always top notch

I used to get banned all the time for my similar Counterstrike stickers:

I mean, there are definitely more gory today. But, a dude get flayed in the first scene of the movie
I can add the 20th of July if that makes it alittle better :ROFLMAO: . Thats what the first page with the rules was date marked as atleast.

I would have to go back to look at the choreography, I cant really remember about that part. Main thing for me was that I remember the acting in general was cringe worthy.

Agreed again.

Mostly it's not just changing the name just for changing the name:

It's when the corporations go "It's not gambling, ergo, I can market loot boxes to kids despite gambling is illegal to sell gambling to kids."
We can go "Fine. It's randomized purchases... and randomized purchases has NOW (in my made up world) been made illegal to sell to kids. No more loot boxes under 18."

I have no illusions. It'll never happen. Kids will do work arounds. I'm flailing here, I get it.
I just want the corporations to lose some of their bottom line because of their behaviour. Just something modest like that.
