Another option here is to get a domain name with a catchall so every account can be registered with a different email address. Or, make use of google's + functionality; eg: [email protected] will work on most websites and will be delivered to [email protected]
It doesn't negate your advice to pick a strong password, it's just an added layer of protection against automated systems.
And, about passwords, the suggestion to use special characters is overblown. A long and rememberable password is much better than a short but complex one. Nobody is going to guess: "Th1s is my Passw0rd!"

And, you're right... Many websites have a hidden character limit, including Microsoft (16 length)
Limiting the length of a password is archaic. With current salt+hash methods, the user's password can be virtually unlimited in length. I suspect the main reason to limiting the length of passwords, is to make CPU load predictable. A password of 1MB in size would use many more cycles to process than one of 16 bytes.

I desperately need that, someone in the group fucked us.

So we need to program our project a very specific dumb way, that work on that part fell on one person cause each of us had our own shit to do and since it worked in our testing the rest of us assumed he followed the project specifications. When I heard my friends malding over how the prof wanted that part of the program handled I got curious to see how the person in my group did the code. He fucking did not do it the way the specifications wanted.

So here I am twiddling my thumbs, I messaged our appointed group leader about it and he just told me nothing can be done now and hope the prof doesn't check the backend, he usually doesn't apparently, and only the functions.

anyways I need to sleep off the sudden stress and cause its exams tomorrow. goodnight folks.

Coming from a country that never has snow or even experienced it, it seems like i'd be excited for maybe a week or 2 then starting to absolutely hate it lmao
