I disagree that devs are being lazy. It's not always up to them, because of the profit assholes in charge.
100%, I mean look what happened to CDPR as soon as they outgrew their little studio. Cyberpunk released as a mess because the investors wanted a quick pay day. That game had so much potential, especially after TW3. That game, still to this day, is the reason I will never pre-order anything again. Developers see it as an easy out when money is already laid down.

Actually MW2 had 60fps on Xbox 360, we’ve had that frame rate for a while now because TVs usually have 60fps as their maximum.
I only ever remember getting around 60 fps if there was like a single character on screen in a campaign, or if it was a cutscene with no extra stuff happening in the background. Cos on multiplayer, I always remember it being choppy as fuck.

I agree and disagree. The good news is the company has taken the steps and done tons of work fixing the game. Yes it was overhyped and definitely not worth the money at the time, but I loved the story and had fun. Some companies see $$$ and do that, but the developers are the ones who will fix it. Look at the success of No Mans Sky, the developers have given out so much cool updates completely for free.

I remember in Mechwarrior 2 online we used to lag shoot, shoot like 10-20 meters in front of another player so you could actually hit him.

I really need to try No Mans Sky, I've never actually played it. I just remember hearing the negative reviews about it on launch and I never gave it a chance

That is true.

It's crazy that not even that long ago, xbox 360 graphics on halo or mw2 getting 20-30fps was considered amazing. Now 60fps for pc gamers is like a low-end system. Hardware has most definitely surpassed what our software is capable of, especially when we consider the disparity between software and hardware back in the day.
What even more funny is older titles 3d or 2d could hold sold frame rates, the only time frames would dip low if they were intentional designed to do that or a a bug. I not trying say all game need to be 8k 240 fps, I'm just advocating that all games need to be mandated to have soldi locked frame rate 60/30 . Nothing below, unless we talking minesweeper or the OG Ultima games on Dos .

It can be extremely boring, and extremely exciting. The exploration and story are a lot of fun, and building the bases are so chill.

Edit: That's it for me tonight, cya in about 8. @Slumdum stir up some stuff so I have more to read kthxbye

One thing about the success of NMS and we should celebrate the come back, is it will never out weigh the terrible launch. it was over promised and under delivered like so many other games. the list is getting so long now its a gamble whether a new release will be worth it to play. see cyberpunk, battlefield 3 through 2042, fallout (pretty much all of em) hell simcity wasn't even working when it released. i can assure you its not the developers who want to release these games in the shape they are but until companies can actually keep the lights on and pay workers till release without outside investing, were gonna see it happen more and more.

to quote total biscuit, we do not preorder

And the shambles and broken promises from Halo: Infinite, but I mean who really had any faith in that being a lasting title honestly? How many times can a studio fuck up and still keep a billion dollar IP?

Of course you say "hi" right when I duck away.

Due to mis management some of the passionate teams of yester year are gone unfortunately that's one of the reasons that quality of games have fallen.

Yep, its not the only title thats fallen from grace. Assassins creed is another one. I saw a interesting VidDoc on modern AAA games and how features are being removed from games to create a more streamlined playstyle that appeals to all audiences, rather than appealing to a specific fanbase. The issue with that, is a game that appeals, to everyone appeals to no-one. Using Fallout for an example. You compare new vegas to Fallout 4, and the RPG elements that have disappeared over the years to make a simpler perk tree. It's a shame developers are treating their playerbase like they're stupid. I think thats why Elden Ring was so phenomenally successful, it treated their players like they were smart.

No man sky is having a n7 event for the normandy rn, so better play it now if you want it

The only CEO that was good was Satoru Iwata imo

Ubi is pretty screwed. The CEO might get a decent payout when 10cent buys them out but the company is done.

The last triple A game I played was Cyberpunk, and while it had glitches at launch I did enjoy that. It ran fine on PC other than the occasional oddity like a cigarette floating down the street without a person smoking it. I just laughed at little things like that.

Oh, maybe D4, that was kinda crap. The same sort of simplification that other franchises have delt with. It mostly worked as intended, just the balance was not great and the game wasn't all that fun.
