2 Years of Service
Just for the apnea - have used a CPAP for nearly 20 years now. The odd thing is that, with the machine, it seems that my body actually gets to a point of "sleep" but the brain is still active. I once watched a movie with a friend of mine - saw the whole thing - but they told me I was snoring and thought I was asleep. It's a weird thing. Tried different "techniques" to bring my mind to rest, but they never work long. If I rotate through different things, that seems to help.
That's at least something but yeah, restless mind sucks.
I have my sleep rituals to gradually ease my body towards sleep & try to recognize when my body hits one of the natural sleep waves you can ride into sleep so I can use that.
When I realize my mind stays restless, I usually leave the room for a bit, reset, read 1-2 chapters in a book and try again.
What's supposed to really help but I can't do logistically is order your house by activity zones. A room to sleep, a room to rest & play and a room to work.
That way your brain disconnects the stress from work or the playing of video games from sleeping & it becomes easier for you to relax, work or sleep.
