Just a quick announcement about my personal life, if you don't care you can move along, nothing witty in here.
Just wanted to say, I lost my grandpa the night to yesterday, and used most of yesterday to try and process that.
It didn't come as a shock, as we were all kinda expecting it at some point, because the doctors had given him some months left.
I'm okay, and yes I was very close to him, maybe not in the last couple of years, because he had sarted to forget us.
But it still hurts to lose him.
My condolences.
I already lost two of mine, and it's really shitty.
When I heard about it I was sad, but it was on the funeral that it really hit me.
Seeing them for the last time I think it makes it more real, I don't know.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Sadly, one of the puritanicals I was arguing with had a (sadly) catchy comeback: "The violence is fake. The nudity is real."
I clapped back... but... I probably failed. I said: "Ok. And the movie cupcake is real too. Does that mean I don't need to do groceries now since I've seen one in the movies? You know, just cuz I see it in a movie or show doesn't mean it's real, or affects the real world!"
Man, I suck at comebacks. I know that person is wrong... but being wordy... I can't give it the OOMPH of their false but catchy and concise slogan.
Catchy but dumb. Violence in movie is simulate, but sex scene are too. And even if the person is really nude (often they use other person for intimacy scenes), why is nudity consider a bad thing? Puritans love to call everything they don't like to be "against nature". But there isn't something more natural than nudity.

And also, there's lot of real violence on TV as well.
Here in Brazil MMA is very popular, and it's literally two people hitting one another, many times there's blood involved.
Why we can watch people beating each other senseless, but a little cleavage is a no no?
I'm prepared for the hate I'll get for this one, but I couldn't get into Reincarnated as a slime. Everyone seems to love it, and the characters are gorgeous but I just found it so boring. I think I'm just not a fan of the insta OP thing where nothing was ever like an actual issue.
I'm the same way when it comes to show I like to binge it all at once. On a very related note does anyone know when they will finish Fairy Tale the 100 year quest? I could google but I'm trying to avoid any spoilers
I mean rise of the shield hero started good, but it need to have the other hero's do real damage and not appreciate that he was keeping them alive. But instead the show kill its self by making them all joke and him do all the damage.
I agree the first season of shield hero I thought was great. After that it definitely took a step down. I feel the same way about Goblin slayer. Great first season then a step down. Also in the future

That way it gives your comment context and a mod doesn't come around and slap you around. They do enjoy that
I've never watched Slime nor Shield Hero. I wanted to, but I'm lazy.
Goblin Slayer never interested me, most people I've seen liked it just for the shock value.
I think the closest anime to it that I've recently watched was Vinland Saga, I liked it.
Most of them are bad, yeah, but some are actually good!
Nodame Cantabile is even better than the anime adaptation. Rurouni Kenshin is really good, too.
I liked both Gintama and Jojo, the characterization was on point!
Japanese Death Note, One Piece and Yu Yu Hakuso were acceptable.
Alita I didn't read/watch the original, so I don't have to compare them, but I also liked it.

well I suppose the rule is there because it makes people angry, I'm not talking sides. I just write something in a funny way, so far been good on the other hand someone wrote I missed the mark, so apparently I'm not as funny as I think. and... now I'm sad.
Wow that sounds like such a unique experience! I think I would have done it. I'm not extremely claustrophobic or anything and I do like to try new things, but I would be low-key stressing the whole time. Like what if something goes wrong with the oxygen. haha

Actually I have heard good buzz about alice in borderlands I didn't realize it was an adaptation. I gotta start paying more attention to whats coming out family and I canceled all the subscriptions and just stream things now. Only downside is you have to know what you want to watch haha
left you a present here @Guz89 don't know if you got the one I sent you yesterday from the OG thread
I have a book, I like, but in one way to pushes my button's, the MC will look at all that going on before doing shit.(this is how it feels) It like, bob look in to the room and see tom beat the shit out of a Woman then move on to beat the next and the next, bob move in to the room seeing as he can't not help. but some how you did not move till he was on to the 3 one, how fucking slow are you. just have the MC running to get there or something.
I still liked the second season of goblin slayer. But the whole time I watched it I was like something is off. It didn't feel as dark and edgy as the first. But I'm waiting to see if they do another season of Sao. I know they are doing another movie and Netflix is doing a live adaptation of it.
Interesting that -- It is only United States citizens that proudly proclaim "I am American" thereby ignoring all the folks that live in North or South America that do not dwell within our borders .
It is supreme egotism - kinda like thinking that in all the universe there is no other life . Some day that is gonna upset a LOT of aliens.

Sorry for your loss. Losing someone close to you is always hard. I hope it somehow helps to think a good person will always be alive in the memories of the people's lives they made brighter.

The shock value to goblin slayer was the opening scene in the first episode. But the anime toned it done majorly. Wasn't even shown basically. The manga was very graphic in its depiction. A guy I work just watched Vinland and enjoyed the first season but said the second season was garbage.
I haven't watched any of one piece yet. Same guy at work says the live is just as good as the anime. Plus he said they removed a lot of the filler stuff that made the anime seem slow in places
Right I'm caught up back reading wish I could stay longer but I have to go pack the car got get up in the morning to go to work so see you guys next week
