I like both, but if it’s in images, I prefer there to be several per scene so the changes are noticeable and it doesn’t feel like just a static image.

Sadly, most animations look primitive with only a couple key frames. In my opinion, a well done still is superior.

Definitely in the camp of no animation = hard pass. Definitely appreciate those people who make the 60fps upscale mods for popular, older games.

Stills are ok, but rarely keep me ingaged. I'd rather an ok animation over a still.

I prefer that games have animation, but there's still some non-animated games that include gorgeous artwork and/or voice acting

Animation without a doubt, but is not like I hate images

I am fine with either. But if they are choosing to do animation, it has to at least be decent. No one wants to watch a powerpoint.
