The question of the presence of animations is secondary. The main thing is the plot and character development.
If you need animation - there are hundreds of thousands of available porn videos in free access or in the form of torrents.

Good/decent animation over still image any day, bad animations can ruin it.

depends on the animator imo. bad animation is a turn off, but i'd choose good animation over anything.

Animations CAN make scenes a lot better, but also ruin everything if not done right. And I don't just mean not right quality-wise, but also just not the way you'd imagined. Any discrepency between fantasy and actual depiction is taking me out of it. And the less information there is, such as with a few still-images, the more information is filled in by fantasy.
Imagine a scene with an LI that has a very wild character and is depicted as adventurous, rebellious, frivolous, talking about how rough they like sex etc. and then get an animation that looks like they're falling asleep with slow and steady movements without any acceleration, like a constant speed back and forth, which just looks automated and devoid of any passion, while also only featuring 2 or 3 positions due to the amount of work involved in making and rendering animated scenes.
Compare that to the same scenario with still-images instead depicting more poses, featuring more dialogue due to increased length and variation of the act, have maybe some animations that just pan over still-images, add some fitting music to underline the scene and your fantasy will do a much better job at filling in the gaps a half-hearted animation would only ruin.

And animations that are not sex-related are an absolute waste 9/10 times, like seeing a character walk unnaturally for a few seconds. Besides being usually uncanny it's also time the dev could've spent on adding something worthwhile instead.

Tbh i prefer still images, mostly cause when games have animation they're not really great, but if they're good i don't mind

When the animation is good, it's great. When it's not, I *wish* I was only looking at static cgs

For me, it's never just the animation or just the image. It's the context/story behind it. I can fap to a wonky animation if the context behind it is hot.

usually I like stills more because animations are most of the time not well made, but if they are I like them too

Both are great, especially the combined mix of two. Animated lewd scenes with posing and gorgeous 4k nudes

If the animations are done right, then animations. I dont care for the Japanese games that are just static scenes with voice acting. Even if it is little bits of animation here and there, it helps the game feel more real and alive. It helps the reader get more into the story and game.

For me the focus should be still images. I like animations, but there are very good games without it. Voice acting, music and sound effects are others things that I can live without. Usually I even mute the sound.

Animation, always, if I want images I will look for them not play a game

Likewise! (y) 🍭

If the "animation" is just 2 pictures back and forth, then I rather pass on it and prefer well done stills.
But if there's quality animation, I pretty much enjoy it.

In a vacuum, usually animation. However, most moments do not gain enough from animation to be worth the extra time, and some animations are a waste of my time (The slow pan up from the feet when a dev wants to show off the new cloths assets they bought)

animations if it hits a certain threshold, no animation is better than bad.
