What game, or games, do you have to mod to be able to enjoy playing them?

One of the reasons I love Baldur's Gate 3 is that Larian intentionally made the game open to mods. Even lewd ones.
Honestly I'm at the point where I expect EVERY game to at least not fight mods. Cause I pretty much mod every game to my liking if possible. We're just living in the age of customizable gaming and I refuse to go back. My fun is my fun. No obligations to play any game "as intended".

Its been a while, so the aniversery edition might have more now, but on the original Skyrim you start with the SexLab framework then look into different types of animations you can add, most are usually in large packs with variations of quality. Devious Devices can either be entertaining or annoying depending on the framework and quests (Starting with your arms bound in a BDSM harnes is funny until you realise no NPC will help you or will just keep mocking you, many deaths to bloody wolves cause I couldn't fight back: Sanguine Debauchery I think it is).
Ah I see

You really need to decide what kind of gameplay you want. Do you want Skyrim with the option to have sex or do you want Sexrim, getting staggered/assaulted, running around in bondage, unable to fight/interact, etc. Different mods for different things. Some play nice together, some don't. The big decision is SexLab (More sex, more options) vs Ostim (Skyrim with some sex). Also decide if you want to play someone with agency or a perpetual victim.
Ah ok. Ive never really looked through loverslab much so i think ill stick with Ostim, as soon as i can get it working.

I honestly havent looked into lewd mods for Baldurs Gate 3. I never felt it needed them.

I can't play Rimworld vanilla. I have to mod it.
Same. Rimworld needs them sometimes

I havent even played base sims 4 so i havent even begun to look at mods for it.

after making the switch to PC i can't play KOTOR2 without at least the TSLRCM
Youll have to explain that one to me. I dont mod kotor or anything.

after always playing kotor2 on xbox, after playing through TSLRCM, i can't enjoy KOTOR2 , particulary post battle of telos, without it.

Minecraft, Skyrim, and Monster Hunter games. I think the the Monster Hunter games are fun once through without modding, but after that part of it feels like a chore.

Skyrim is always a given but what mods do you use for monster hunter?

If I'm being honest, there's only one game that comes to mind where modding is a must to really enjoy it, because the base game is mediocre. And I think we all know the answer: Minecraft.

Other heavily modded games with very active modding communities, such as Terraria, Stardew Valley and Bethesda’s games (Skyrim and Fallout), are fun on their own, and when people mod them for the first time, they almost always look for QoL mods because they already like the base game.

But Minecraft? I don't know anyone who says, “It's fine with just a few QoL mods” when we're talking about modding Minecraft. It has such a limited amount of content, and the game itself is so bland that you usually end up adding massive mods just to have something to do.

Yeah, Minecraft has always been one of those games I spend more time modding then playing. I do the same with Sims, but I don't think the mods are nearly as game-changing as Minecraft mods.

It is 100% cheating, but I use mods to get all the resources for consumables. I still farm all my own monster parts, but I've realized I don't care much for the game outside of the combat so I remove that part.

I think no one will really understand this because its a mess to play multiplayer moded, but ARK Evolved. I played around 300h or ARK with my friends on a private server and had lots of fun. We decided to add a small mod(dino meds if I remember correctly?) then it quickly spiraled into having 30+ mods like Primal Fear. We had another 600h+ of that

Once you go modded, stock feels odded.

You remove the part you dont like and play how you want. lets be real unless you have pvp than its not really cheating

A game I didn't see in this discussion yet: Mount and Blade (warband and bannerlord)
Both are borderline unplayable without mods

I only mod games to fix glitches that would otherwise ruin a save. Had to do that in Cyberpunk a fair bit lol
