Do you play your own music in games?

Not really. I've tried it though. Too distracting for me.

It works in some games, for example strategy games or non-story shooters, but otherwise I let the original music on.

depends on the game, sandbox games with little dialogue then yeah normally play my own music

Depends on the game to be honest, if is a rts i play my own music for example.

Depends on the game, if the game is pretty basic with 1 song playing over and over again or if the music doesn't match the mood, I'll play my music, otherwise, keep the game's music

Only do that with some gatch games and with mmo.
The rest of the games i play i listen to the game music.

Always leave it on. It adds to the experience.

i never try play games with my own music,i always let the original music from the game

I sometimes turn off the sound in World of Warcraft and play classic rock or classical music while I play. Makes the experience a little bit better.

I don't play music and I mute the game

Only when i'm playing either: league, minecraft or a simulation game.

Honestly, if I played music in h-games I felt really weird, as for regular games, I like to play it occasionally; if it's a shooter, rock music fits really well.

Games without background music just feel like something's missing to me.
I've even added my own music to silent games.
And sometimes I just let my own music play in the background.

except it is zzz or wuwa, i would use my own playlist all the time. Mostly all the game music get boring easily

For games that have no music or sound, I like to play some background music. I don't play anything intense or energetic, I literally search up "background music" on Youtube and play something that could be elevator music.

For some games I definitely play my own background music

I'll enjoy the music for a while, if I can. But then it usually gets muted and I'll throw on a podcast or the news or something in the background while I play.

For me it truly depends on the games genre, i usually play with either no music or for a lot of games or i play youtube docu series on my second monitor. But then again some games needs music to create the intended atmosphere.

Absolutely. Skyrim, Minecraft... if I'm not just grinding mindlessly, I'll definitely enjoy music. It's just part of being IN those places.
