What are some features in games you'd like to see, or see in more games? At least within the time, monetary, and physical constraints the mostly unpaid indie devs are subjected to.

For me, in no particular order:
  • Allow me to set a routine in a grindy game. If my days are "Wake, Breakfast, School, Homework, Seduce, Sleep" in a neverending cycle at least spare me having to manually select each step and only interrupt the routine if something needs my attention or I *want* to interact.
  • Let me set the reading speed. I hate when the text appears letter by letter at a snails pace, with is true for me in 95% of games.
  • Closed captioning. I don't need every slap written out, but story-relevant stuff like thunder, explosions, … would be nice.
  • Let me skip minigames. If it's a minigame to earn something, just award me the statistical average, or the average of the last n manually played games.

  • Let me set the reading speed. I hate when the text appears letter by letter at a snails pace, with is true for me in 95% of games.

Preaching to the choir, man.

Why do developers insist on that? Is not that it would cost them anything to include a "skip" or "speed dialogue" option.

Something like bookmarks for choices, like you could skip content already read and move through choices until you hit something new. Skipping text for 30 minutes to change a path is a pain in the ass.

This would be amazing. Maybe they could be spoiler locked, but it would also let you see just how many paths there are. If you're doing multiple playthroughs, maybe you want to do the short one first, etc. Yeah, you could just make a bunch of saves, but sometimes there aren't enough slots.

I’d love to have a ready-made menu for all mods (especially for the kind of mods that aren’t available in pre-made collections). Instead of having to search for and install mods one by one, it would be great to be able to enable the mods I want directly from within the game.

Might be slightly out of scope here, with the games needing to support mods & the devs needing to provide a single curated selections of mods. I don't think that would be possible for most indie porn game devs.

Like what Ren'py games already do, being able to skip seen content on a different playthrough?

When I play a game that doesn't have a gallery it comes off as really lazy. I like being able to go back and revisit scenes easily.
I second this. As well as having good preview pics. Here's my preview pic wishlist: Seeing most of the main girls, seeing what the nude visuals are like, seeing a few pics that show the range of sex/kink, seeing some pics that show the vibe of the game. If I don't have all that information, the download is more of a gamble, might be a waste of time.

The grinding mechanics that some developers like to add are annoying. It would be cool if there was passive income, and it played into the story.

May seem a lil hard to implement but an inbuilt mod menu would be amazing! Tho not every game would need it but with games with modding communities it can get hard to keep track of the mods you've already got

Might sound kinda stupid but I want a game to be a good game and then also have the other stuff. Not just have a game around the other stuff.

in-game guide. 100% needed with some of the games
This. So much this. Even if you just highlight good/bad choices. I don't mind replaying a game to follow a completely different storyline, but I don't want to replay a game cause I missed one scene or forgot to save or didn't look up/download a walkthrough. Sometimes you can tell from the dialogue, sometimes you can't. And I don't want to have to figure out what each gamedev considers lewd vs innocent behavior, good vs bad morality, etc. There's ways to do it without breaking immersion. Just a highlight, parenthesis summary of choice consequences.

Customization. I think a lot of "Games" feel more like actual games with at least a minimum level of customization. Being able to choose the Dress code as a office manager. RPG maker games that have multiple outfits that actually change the look of a character. Of course things like Naming your character, but going even further, naming random stuff, like a new car the MC just grinded to get. Whatever, just the more customization shoved into a game the more of a game feel it has without adding a lot of grindy bloat.
