Yeah, well said. But I do feel like it depends on the type of game.Plot. VN or a game can be great in terms of rendering quality, but if there is a weak plot, they turn into a dull, boring action. As an example, Reunion and Amnesia.
At the same time, some text-only games can give such projects a 100-point head start against this background.
I personally disagree, which just shows that different people enjoy and prioritize different things. This is not really a or question! (I have played somewhere in the thousands of avns) You can have a plot with a shit graphics or graphics with shit plot, but what you really need is both. So, games get away with having a slow burn, but you need a good plot for that; most of those crash and burn before you even get the first sex scene. if your making an AVN, you need a mix of 50/50, 60/40, or 40/60. You can push it into 70/30 with a good plot, but you need animations. The old single-frame javn's style is dead. Most popular avns have them for a reason, which is the standard now.
I should have been clearer. I was not talking about enjoyment; I was talking about whether a game makes it to completion or gets abandoned. There's a pattern, and I agree with your statement that shows that different people enjoy and prioritize different things. (I am not counting slop or cash grab games; there are so many of those)I personally disagree, which just shows that different people enjoy and prioritize different things.
For me, 80-90 % of hotness comes from the writing, so if you have bad graphics and no animations but amazing writing, I'd still enjoy it a lot
