Discord can get fucked.

Since Discord keeps drifting further into this pathetic “hand over your ID so we can decide if you’re allowed to exist” direction, I decided I’m done relying on them. I’m not building a community on a platform that keeps moving closer to treating ordinary users like criminals, products, or liabilities the second it becomes convenient for them.

That kind of shit destroys privacy, destroys trust, and destroys the entire point of having an actual community in the first place.

So instead of waiting around for Discord to get even worse, I built my...

How many of the alternatives will become successful? Unfortunately I think most people just stay where they're at, regardless of the bad, since they've already made a home there. Kinda like people who play WoW after all these years, even after Blizzard routinely takes advantage of them time and time again.

I never had waffles, but for pancakes, I like them with "manjar" (a milk-based sweet jam, I don't know if it has a good english translation for the term outside of "manjar" or "dulce de leche")

... I have never understood why people continued to use Discord after time and again they showed how hostile they are willing to be to their own user base. Communities wiped out in moments, all downloads, guides, etc. just plain gone.

because discord has the perfect UI alongside the massively "free" video sharing, voice calls, and many other features... quite literally most people got used to knowing their most basic of infos would be given over and thus how discord manages to be the only one to be able to do and give most of those features unlimited for free... and why until the ID thing most people just wanted to use it.
