If I was the protagonist in this story, I'm sure someone would come save me. It would be like a miracle. But I have no one to save me. There is no god who would grant me a miracle. I'm a murderer, after all. But I've done nothing bad. All I did was feed myself. If I hadn't, I would have starved to death. Would it have been better that way? Am I evil because I didn't let myself starve to death? Give me an answer, Muroi-san! I didn't willingly become such a creature. But if I have a life, shouldn't I treasure it? Is that a sin? Muroi-san! This is what it means to be abandoned by God.
I guess this is meant to say, "Look, we're banning this (not really), so don't you dare do it (we don't care), there won't be any problems (if something happens, we'll say we don't allow it and all the blame falls on the author, not the site)."
Don't stick too deeply into labels. the nice part of fiction is that you can pick and choose whatever traits you want. The character can be male and still desire the treatment and some traits associated with a woman without wanting to change what they are. Or they can desire that. The main thing should be the why's and all other traits of their personality. The main mindset should be, in my opinion, a character that just happens to be a femboy/trans
It's a desire to be respectful towards people who are actually trans that is driving this moreso than a mere label. It's not my lived experience so I don't want to make bad assumptions or stereotypes is all.
I think (am not trans myself) that if you're putting that much thought into it then you're already doing a good job at being respectful <3
It keeps bad actors away too, thats way i don't have a problem with gatekeeping, if anime wasn't a hobby for normies now we would't have lost the fanservice and we would still have amazing shows overall, like how games too are becoming more censored
And the reason why I'm being so cagey about them is also why it's easy for me to flip back and forth: I am an ATF refugee so it shouldn't come as a surprise that they'd physically be no different regardless of their identity.

I completely agree. And I also agree with the Japanese when they say they should stick to Japanese anime and not try to pander to Western audiences.
It's good to be thoughtful, but as long as you write as your character's living experiences then it doesn't matter if it is assumptions or stereotypes because cause and effect gives dept to them. Observing others to have a more solid basis for your character's actions can be productive, but by the end of the day the setting will never be 1:1 with reality so it will be up to you to bounce their traits against the world you wrote to fully flesh them out or else they become a caricature. People will complain either way but it's an important step to see if it's a flaw of the setting or of the character

In the end, it's still a label, which is why their inability to physically transition is very much an asset since it just means which pronouns I'd use.
I think it's less about just being japanese, but more about art not needing to cater to anyone. Many good traits in famous works came from the artists not giving a fuck and going with what they felt was the best like the EVA aesthetics coming from the author just thinking they were cool
I add more, I was a Naruto fan (nowdays i grow up and find the show/manga pretty mid but still okay) and when i was a teen i was a huge anime fan, that was when Crunchyroll was still a piracy site (the fucking Irony) and people made fun of my tastes, most friends thought it was weird or for weebs and shit and i was like "okay i still like it tho" but they were more interested in other popular shit.
To bei fair crunchyroll is still a pirate site, but rather than illegally sharing coporate data with people they now illegally share people's data to corporations
