yes it's more of a character building exercise than an actual challenge, but it's still frustrating having to wait to meet the criteria in a world where instant gratification is the norm.
I couldnt imagine something like that happening, why do some people have such malice when they are part of the community as a whole, im glad Jack is more paranoid, the less people with access the better IMO.
I didn't even make the link with the instant gratification thing that we got used to. That's a really good point.
If nothing else it gives things like games+ inherent value because it had to be earned. Each member with the privilege had to invest a similar amount of effort into acquiring the resources needed for purchase. So the value of that content is greater based on scarcity regardless of any other factors.
I think the best thing it gives those games is protection from white knights. If everyone that wants access to the games is restricted to a few days of posting I don't really think it gives them that much value, it does give them some value but I don't think that's the main selling point.
That's how I understand it too, it might prevent this site to end up like others before it.

it's not to bad I read one of the other old threads and i could be wrong but the old price for member + was 750 the got changed to 450 and is now 350.
Surprised it was higher back then since there's probably less people around to "farm" engagement with.
the amount of coin you got per post may of been higher or it was a later addition when a lot of people already had quite a few coins, if the coins came in before the ranks
The added value part is something closer to an effect rather than a goal if that makes sense. There are still games available for download so the site still offers content. But that content becomes less desirable when a user finds there is more that can't be instantly accessed. That content then becomes more valuable depending on the resources needed to view it. The most obvious indicator of that added value is that you can use money to see it.
Yeah surprisingly the indirect praise of a reaction is more effective than responding to posts revealing that their words have created a burning desire for more only they can satisfy
