To maintain some sort of sanity I never got too deep into that anime and popculture stuff. Friends that could talk with me about it rather seemed too shut in to share their fascination with it. So my knowledge about that stuff is superficial.

Too late for my late teens. The last time someone in person recommended me (or even talked with me about anime) is nearly 10 years ago. I even remember, that he wanted me to watch Deadman Wonderland. It was meh. Last one I enjoyed was The Promised Neverland.
Maybe I'm also too much of a crybaby, everytime an anime ends that I'm watching I feel the existential dread of not being able to watch it again for the first time.

While the big C was rising, some gal I was chatting with said, that she could get serious with me, if I share her music taste.
It was Nightcore.
Got a playlist from her. Listened careful.
Never replied to her messages again.

Talking about big C. Found a rather interesting, but plotarmor heavy anime called Ajin. The promise behind it is great, but not very deep.

Anyone got any good CK3 overhaul mod to recommend...tired of AGOT and Elder Kings.
Something that is adult mod compatible...How I wish someone just makes Fallout mod for CK3...Fan Fork does not do it for me haha.

oh cool, i've always found it interesting to hear what "got people into" the thing that was just on in my house growing up. i didn't even realise people distinguished between anime and western cartoons until i was a teenager

not sure there's much on the level of agot and elder kings... have you tried the fallen eagle? adds start dates between ~300 and ~500. dno about mod compatibility but its popular enough that there's a decent chance

It was "cartoons" vs. "chinese cartoons" for my parents.

ah ok i get you. with the popularity of stuff like pokemon i think this situation is probably fairly common, lots of people who don't know they're already into anime

After school animes were great.
Ranma, Cardcapture Sakura, Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblade, Sailor Moon, Captain Tsubasa, Dragon Ball and many more. This was a great time.

classic had a moment like that reading shonen jump in school (international kid, didn't know it was "weird") and some guy goes "is that one of them chinese comics?"

Old memories unlocked. We also had a rather strange guy with ADHD, that was on heavy medication, that really enjoyed drawing and reading mangas. He bothered no one, but still was the target of mocking. Instead of being problematic he instead coped with his little rituals, reading, drawing, daydreaming, making notes in his death note.
Someone recognized the reference to the death note and called the teacher. The school was evacuated.

Teachers can be also scumbags.

Anime = Cartoons, it is literally the definition animated stuff. People keep trying to give anime a definition about being japan thing but in truth it stop being a purely japan thing when they started outsourcing a lot of it. Still people will debate about semantics so I will die on this hills...ANIME IS CARTOONS!!!

Words are just terms we use to communicate ideas, so even if cartoons = animation and anime = animation, there is still a contextual understanding of what we all think of when we say the terms At least that's how I think of it

i hear that, the number of teachers i had that were clearly drunk on the power to boss around a bunch of literal children. also just never doing anything about bullying until it became too much of a pain to ignore and then punishing the victim
