AMAZIBALLS animations!!! Its great to see AI progressing so quickly, I for one welcome our new overlords!
Well i kind of specialize in AI animations and videos. So while other games might have a more intriguing story or more consistent images, The Seven Seas will always be at the edge of what is currently possible with lewd AI animations, even if at some point the first chapters may also represent the limitations and issues with earlier AI video models.

Especially with the next version 1.2.2, there will be a whole selection of TV channels you can watch in your freetime, which is about to exceed an hour of playtime overall. I would like to show some samples already, but i guess this kind of content is a bit too spicy for this forum, even here in the games+ section.
 
So starting next release we can watch onboard TV while waiting for the next release? Sounds intriguing. Loved the game btw. It was fun to play and the minigames were easy enough not to be annoying. I have nothing to complain about. We need more games like that.
 
The minigame is HORRIBLE. Even at full speed you move so SLOW it takes five minutes to get the boat halfway then a tap on invisible geometry and BOOM do it all over again or lose rep, I like the option to skip but does a minigame that should add fun and a slight change of pace need to be SUCH BS?

Yeah yeah, we see you, you're not the first one to talk shit about it nor the last, the Dev already said he won't erase the minigame, he'll just optimize it, if it's so bad for you just don't play the game and unless you have something to contribute don't bother coming back to it

New faction: The Scientists

I hereby introduce a new faction: The scientists. The doctor on the ship (and yes, also the little nurse), the chief engineer, archeologists and researchers that are so important to keep things running on the ship and reveal the various mysteries, but they are often sidelined by the ships leadership.

They certainly like the metric system, and they clearly prefer sustainability and scientific accuracy over irresponsible and careless behavior.

They also got their own broadcast channel focusing on funny and lewd science experiments and (pseudo) documentaries with a special twist.

Not gonna lie, the game has a great premise, but the disproportionate AI-generated art completely breaks it. If it had decent hand-drawn art, it would be a fantastic game.

Well i take this as a compliment for the general game setting and story background. I understand there is a great deal of aversion against everything AI generated here, more than on other platforms. I just can tell that if i even attempted to hand-draw any of it, you certainly would not appreciate it either because my talent for drawing is extremely limited.
But even for a much more talented fellow, putting out that number of drawings takes time. I have the highest appreciation for those who have the talent and put in that time, but for some projects, the hand-drawn approach makes it a life's work.

By the way the use of AI art is not just "disproportionate", it is practically all AI generated at this point and it is not a secret at all. I wonder kind of mixture would be appropriate to you and what degree of AI usage you would deem "forgivable".

The problem I see is that i experiment with different models and styles, and it shows in the game. I still struggle to find a more solid style and a more stable toolchain to produce a more consistent visual appearence as we go forward. Too tempting and powerful are the new models coming out, adding new capabilities that I urgently waited for, but these come with their new specific stylistic ways. I try to improve the worst outliers bit by bit, but at some point i have to go forward and focus on new content.

I think that the version being 1.2.1 plays a big part in why sometimes the AI might look "weird", any game in a 1.x version is usually more polished in a lot of aspects and maybe in this case people would expect the game looking slightly more accurate, I'm not an expert so I can't tell you how to put out your own game but that's my opinion.

That said, I actually kind of like how it looks right now, I obviously expect it to look better in the future but when you're using any AI to make artwork it'll take time for that specific AI to "learn" up to a point where it gives out "acceptable" results, the game has a long way to go in a lot of aspects knowing we've seen maybe 5% of it (5% being me upping it cause it might not be that much in reality) but as everything it takes time.

Maybe, and just maybe you should write a disclaimer in the 1st post saying that the game is in very early development stages so people don't expect that much story and art-wise since it being AI styled will take more time to develop

-- You use some nasty topics, but try really hard to keep it fun if that makes sense. i.e. Rape as punishment, but everybody ends up enjoying it. Could be a dark premise, but you keep it light and sexy.
-- Generally pretty models and rather long animated sequences. (see cons later)
Cons: (yeah this section is going to be longer than Pros, but honest feedback is more valuable than simple praise.)
-- Consistency of models overall but especially during a scene. You already know about this, so no need to elaborate.
-- Scenes auto-advancing without user input. This is ok sometimes like in an extended lewd scene, but there are many instances in the game where an image or short animation pops up and is gone a few seconds later before the player has a chance to appreciate it.
-- Scenes where the interesting action is taking place in a tiny pop-up window. The player never gets to full screen it.
-- Some of the AI renders contain really bad visual artifacts and/or bad resolution. The game as a whole doesn't really benefit from these being included. They just distract from the positive player experience.

Presently there is one scene that would qualify as both. Unfortunately, the scene is more mentioned rather than shown. We are aware of the action happening, but the MC does not participate. We see about 3 stills of the action, and are otherwise told that fun was had without you.

Also, while not technically a gangbang, there is one mmf scene that was pretty good.

It is pretty much an orgy, but instead of being part of the action, you are being the bouncer/doorman. But we are, with the game as a whole, still in some sort of buildup. In later versions the player will be in the middle of it.

Thanks for the feedback, it is pretty much consistent with my own feeling. I have to work on a few things. Just in case you remember one or more scenes or depictions that especially annoyed you, that might help me a bit. I think i might give some more images and animations a makeover, but i wonder if i am blind to some of the stuff that bothers you.


Current status of the game
I am currently working towards the Release V1.3, intended to
  • finish the story of chapter 1, playing around Florida and Mexico, two new harbors for the ship game and even more included in the story
  • introduce a new ship model that is more consistent with the visuals of the ship in renderings and also with the programmed hitbox
  • introduce watching the online broadcast TV ("zapping" through the program with lots of naughty and hillarious clips)
  • make the factions gain importance, and a new faction (the scientists) is being introduced
  • improve the language a lot, for which i got the very appreciated help of not one, but two native speakers to proofread and give creative input. One of them for example might add a bit more depth to the somewhat rushed prologue / prison scenes
Planned release: around end of November, no specific date set, might also end up in early December.
 
we shooting for still early December or maybe Early January for V1.3?

I wouldn't worry too much about the update being a bit later than stated. I think the dev may have over-promised a bit about how much content will be in this one without fully taking into consideration how long that content might take to produce.
