Do you enjoy games that have/require a walkthrough?

I don't want to replay games unless it's been months/years since the last update, so if there is a chance of missing out on content on my first playthrough, I prefer games with walkthroughs (official or unofficial.)

Depends on the game. If we are talking about VN, then the presence of a walkthrough (built-in or some kind of mod) can turn it into a dull kinetic novel, i.e. into an electronic picture book, eliminating those gameplay elements that were originally there. As for real games, I would prefer not to have a walkthrough, but a system of built-in hints. Sometimes you can't do without them, because there is a risk of getting into a softlock.

require no way in hell at that point i think you aren't even playing the game you know you might as well just watch porn, but i do understand that walkthroughs can be a help especially on replays if a the player feels the need to use a walkthrough to play the game then its a bad game

I agree.

I like to explore things myself first. And then I can just look at the code if it's Renpy.
So I rarely feel the need for walkthroughs. And I don't like it when they're built in.

For non porn game (yes), I love to do blind walkthrough since the outcome of those tasks often makes me feel rewarded.

For porn game (no), if the game have multiple branch path, I often don't want to play it without the walkthrough mod. Because I just want to watch the porn scene and it's just unbelievably frustrating if I missed a sex scene from it.

i like a walkthrough. i want to experience the story without worrying about failing

I can partially tolerate it if its for easter eggs or secret endings. If the story is really good then thats another reason

PDF walkthroughs no; in-game hint or green vs red choice absolutely yes. There are some games I just don't want to replay multiple times to see if I guessed right to have a totally different outcome because there are a lot of games which have those totally neutral choices that don't matter at all.

In some cases, yes. If a game is confusing enough as it is, then the walkthrough would be a great help. If it's more of an exploring game, then definitely not. I would want to explore every part of the game and leave nothing unexplored.

Walkthrough Mods are great, but some games definitely don't need them. However, if it's a big game with lots of levels, I tend to use walkthrough mods if available, as I don't want to miss any action.

I don't mind a game that has a walk-through. It's up to me whether I use it or not, so it should be fine. I would only use it if stuck though

It would be nice if these types of walkthroughs were only unlocked after the first playthrough of the game, so that the player could run through game again, unlocking scenes that he didn't unlock the first time and trying things he hadn't tried before

Yes if its something you could realistically figure out yourself. No if its impossible without it

I need walkthroughs as sometimes I end the games by going on wrong choices

Depends on what you mean by "Require a walk though" if its a title such as Time loop hunter where its a convoluted mess to grind though that requires a spread sheet to get anywhere Its a hard pass for me, Even though Im interested by the story and enjoyed what is attempted with its way to immersion breaking and to much busy work to enjoy it as much as I could have otherwise.

i think most renpy games could do without one but more complex games for sure its helpful, just make it skippable
