i really really like character customization and progression. not always in the TF sense (though that's nice too) but rather just creating either as close to a copy of yourself, or just a character you find hot at the moment, and watching as they slowly get changed and corrupted by the world... Lilith's Throne, TITS and Degrees of Lewdity do this so well i can never shut up about how good these games are. the turn by turn sex encounter simulation LT and DOL do is so fantastic too, especially in noncon situations >///<

I think story is the most important to me
Withouth good made and witten story game kinda just changes into sex simulator

The graphics are a necessity, being the reason that i take a look at the game in the first place, but it doesn't require the best to stand out.
The story is what make it memorable, but it can still be done with a by-the-books one and still work great.
But the pacing is the balancer that makes me stay, without keeping me dry or drowning me in just a couple of minutes

As realistic models as possible, good story, little grind, reasonable slow burn, i don't like instant sex without story

There are a few things I usually consider when choosing a game:
*pacing, because I hate wasting time with fluff, but I also hate it when everything is too superficial;
*visuals: I like both anime and realistic, but I hate weird distortions;
*I like the characters to follow their personalities, if it's going to be difficult, so be it.

Character likability, quality of art and lewdness, emotional charge, script that doesn't make me laugh from shoddy quality.

100% agree on pacing. For me, buildup is way hotter than instant payoff. Watching characters gradually open up feels way more rewarding than “hi MC, let’s bang” five minutes in.

the characters NEED to be well written. Else i just cant get into it at all. nothing kills a hard on quite like a boring ass character

Character designs fs, nothing else matters if the characters aren't appealing (there could be exceptions)

REAL, pacing is suuuuuper important! while i think character writing is a little more important personally, pacing is a very close second. Instant banging without any build up is lame and unsexy

Characters. First thing I look at when deciding on which games to play is the character design and if it appeals to me. I can mostly handle a bad plot as long as the characters have unique personalities and distinct voices. Same goes for my own stories, I create the characters first and then they dictate how the plot goes and the kind of sex that that particular character would engage in.
I also agree with the comments above me about pacing, but hypocritically, the game I'm currently working on has some characters dtf right away and some that hold off for variety's sake(and due to their personality). The kind of writer I am, I find it hard to not just get to the point sometimes.

Interactivity. To me that's what makes it a game and that's makes it an experience that is worth investing into beyond other mediums.

Characters and story. Having good characters and an interesting story will let me ignore a lot of a games flaws for me. Without it I tend to lose interest and just drop whatever it is I'm playing.

Never really thought about interactivity. But thinking about it, I think I should add that to my list too. Thinking about some of the worst games i've played are the ones that have very little interactivity. Hell i struggle with VN if they have very little choices or i have no agency over some aspects of the story atleast. So maybe interacivity is a big one for me too.

Good pacing - building up the erotic situations so that when you actually get to the point it really feels a revelation/satisfaction.

For me it's Story first. If it doesn't interest me then it's a no go.
Then emotion. If I don't like the love interest or feel like there is come connection between MC and the LI then it's just boring and I might as well watch porn.
Finally the sex scenes. Non boring / repedative, different angles and actually seeing genitalia is usually what I need. Also time and place. If it is a porn game where the point is screwing as many LIs as possible then anytime, anywhere, but if it is trying to build up to something then random fucks are boring.
