That also sound like a good solution but just as Mercury said this also has the issue of needing modification of the addon that does the interest stuff.

Interesting. Perhaps that is a place where (yet another) currency could come in. Current AC yields interest only in YAC (to prevent compounding). AC can be converted to YAC 1:1, but not from YAC to AC. YAC cannot earn interest. Items are purchasable in the shop with either AC or YAC with parity pricing. AC is tradeable but YAC is not.

This still wouldn't solve the current billionaires "problem" though without modifying their existing balance as they would still generate absurd amounts of YAC every day.

Also, I don't think the addon can yield interest from the bank in a different currency so the idea is probably as moot as the idea of dynamic interest (requiring custom development).

Wow, I always miss the good stuff. 2% daily is insanely high. Like a daytrader with real money would froth at the mouth at the concept of making 2% daily with real money. For reference, if you put in $1k, after 31 days, you will earn an interest of $847.59 on top of your $1k. Effective percentage 84.8% with an annualised APY of 13,7640.829%. (for transperancy those numbers I pulled from a reddit thread). But yea 2% DAILY is madness.

Ah it's life, she wasn't that great of a mom anyway, and in the end I found my own way through life. Sucks she'll end up in a home though, none of us will be taking care of her. If she was nicer she would have probably earned her way into a nicer one than "the cheapest one I can find". Thank you for the kind words.

The feeling I'm getting is that the worry is that some people will collect insane amounts of coins requiring little to no activity and being able to really mess with the eco through trades

I dont like removing the interest from the bank, but the reason isnt because I think its a bad idea, I dont like it because I just barely started benefiting from it.
Ever since I first learned about the bank and the 2% daily interest, its been clear it isnt a great long-term idea.
I mean, if I got 100 coins when I first joined this site, put it in the bank, collected the interest of 2% every day and never interacted with the community again, I would have, after a year, over 137,000 coins. (Assuming I didnt fuck up the math)

After a certain amount of coins, if your main objective is accruing more, the coins you get from interacting become trivial compared to the interest.
Removing the interest (or at least strongly nerfing it) encourages more interaction from the community, while also pausing the hyperinflation that 2% daily compounding interest causes.
This is not popular, as we've seen. The reason I'm saying this isn't because I like removing the interest from the bank, it's because it seems to me to be true, and a good idea long term.

This is exactly why I keep putting the word "problem" in scare quotes. I have yet to hear what the problem exactly is. It has been repeatedly stated that the problem is not related to AC wealth accumulation lowering the donation amount. I have yet to have millions of AC trickled down upon me by the benevolent %0.0001, nor seen evidence that this is even happening except in a very few specific cases. There are transaction logs so it should be possible for a simple query like SELECT * FROM transactions WHERE from_user IN [$badUserIds] AND amount > $moreThanWeWantThemToSend would reveal just how many times this has happened, if that is even the "problem".

Also: Is the ticket to Epstein Island what's hidden behind P5? I may never know if the bank interest goes away.
