To be fair, I heard about it because I play Lessons in Love where it also laughed at.
I've come to the realization that these movies just weren't made with my demographic as the target audience.

From everything I've heard and what I've seen with the trailers, the movie is a 4 at best. Gadot's acting as the Queen was objectively bad, they bloated it with too many side characters, and they tried a ham-fisted message where they had to very blatantly tell rather than show the moral, which I feel is a pretty bad failing of demonstrating a moral.
It's definitely an obsession with money. Live action is cheaper than animation (though, that's not really the case with the Lion King, that's 100% animation), and they don't need to do as much writing if they just reuse existing material. Everything about a corporation is about profit margins.
I do enjoy a challenge...what in particular would help @KaityCat right now? Any direction is appreciated.

The Warning - Indeed it doesn't hurt that they are all beautiful, but they are also exceptionally talented and charismatic and kind, which makes them the full package to me.
Don't worry about new generations, they are neck deep into a youtube and games of questionable quality.
The sad thing is that they made the originals and somehow make the live action a totally different thing that doesn't vibe with the original audience but also to look "modern" and "inclusive" force and end worse that if they just kind of remake the original, like the lion king last like 30 more minutes fails to expand the good trama and only add more fart jokes so I still prefer the animated version. Of course, that's my opinion. Most of the problems are not even the actors or that but the writing is just bad.
