Guys, memory bandwidth on gpu, what exactly does that mean? Does it has close ties to pcie or is it just the speed "inside" the gpu and has nothing to do with pcie?

Looking at all the beautiful AI images, I actually considering upgrading my monster of a GPU (RX570) but not ready to upgrade anything else since otherwise I would be forced to, pretty much, buy the pc from scratch...
Wondering about either 4060ti and waiting for 5060ti with 16gb, but my PCIe is 3.0, which is less than ideal (4.0 in 4060 and 5.0 in 5060), hence the question about memory bandwidth, since 4060 has more clock speed but 5060 has better memory (gddr7), with better bandwidth but slower clockspeeds (still 25% better overall in that department), but because of that I have a question if this is even concerns my pcie much.

I'm really not sure what characteristics would affect generation, if you ask on ai subreddits maybe you could get some better help.

Yeah, to be honest, before rx570 I had gtx650 and the only reason I upgraded was because I wanted to play Cyberpunk. That's it.
I don't really need super PC since the only games I play is some idles and, currently, Arknights with Limbus Company.
But I wanted to play Stalker 2, that's for sure, the only thing that stopped me was that prices on gpu's was horrendous. Still is, actually. But at least now I have more reason for upgrade.

I spent some time thinking about whether I should even join this conversation, and how to respond to each of you individually - but in the end, I decided to just bundle up my five cents and share it with all of you together.

As you might know, I have a personal no-gift principle, so it would feel hypocritical to be jealous when someone else is gifted something. It’s not, or at least shouldn’t be, any of my business. Plus, Kaity and Lazarus are absolute staples of our little lurking corner, and of everyone who didn’t have P5 yet, they were the most deserving. I genuinely feel no jealousy in their case. If anything, I just miss Kaity being around as much whether it is because of P5, Kitty (no sleaze allowed) club or IRL, and that tugs at the heart a bit.

That said, I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t sting if someone who joined after me ended up getting access before I did. Monetary donations excluded, obviously.
