that realy depens on where you live. If you live in the USA and you are in constat danger of hurricanes, tornados, fires or earthquakes... well you are better of renting, then owning a cardboard home. In cental europe you only have floodings in certain areas and houses tend to be build like tanks. Prices for property are insane everywhere anyway
In my area it's tornado alerts, south is filled with tornadoes. Areas around me get hit with occasional flooding, my uncle that lives out
in the country is closer to the river, one year he got flooded, so much water he had to take a boat to his house to get his stuff,
then he had to rebuild his house because of the flood.
