I genuinely don't know enough about bitcoin and its legal to know how this would go down. My feeling with crypto is there's not actually anyone regulating any of it seriously enough. There'd probably be some news stories about a bunch of bitcoin moving from some wallets to other wallets, and that's all we'd hear about it.

Anything that can be translated to money is regulated somewhere. For criptocurrencies more specifically it depends on certain aspects, like the nature of transactions, if selling/buying using convencional money it tends to affect income tax and/or consume tax; if transactioning by means of official banks it affects (in some countries) the financial operations tax.
