i miss option "it depends". Few games or rather VN's have some nice written characters or interesting plot so if authors took their time in character creation and plot hmm plotting why i should not take his work seriously? if VN is simply "action" packed clicker why should i take it seriously?

After getting to know the NSFW gaming community, I realized that a lot of people are really invested in these games, and while I can see the artistic and sometimes philosophical value in some, I see these games primarily as a way to "release stress", so I became interested in knowing how the "community" in general views these games

First, saying you dont intend to be insulting does not stop what you say from being insulting!

People get attached to people in movies, video games, anime etc so what is the difference between that and getting attached to people in a "Porn" game? I don't think we should shame people because of a kink. Most porn games put you in the role of the MC, if people don't like NTR then why would they like it in a game (even if it is porn), in which they take on the role of said MC?

I was under the impression that by serious it was asking a different question. Like do we like a story with compelling characters, plot, etc. Apparently my interpretation of said question is incorrect. As it seems most people took the word "serious" in the question quite literally.

So let me give an appropriate answer. If I just wanted porn I could watch it or just go fuck my wife. I like compelling narratives, and as the saying goes "Sex Sells" so yes the fact that there is sex in them does draw me in, but it has to have much more depth then just screwing in order for me to enjoy it.

So do I take porn games seriously, not really, at least not for the porn aspect.

It's a skill based thing IMO. The better the quality the better the reaction and lasting effect. That said, personally, once I complete a game it gets archived and seldom ever revisited. They are a momentary thing.
